Why are people going insane for pokemon cards all of a sudden?
>>
>>712142480
Why are white people like this?
>>
new gacha just dropped
>spend $900 on pokemon cards
>open packs hoping you pull some ultra rares 5 star waifu pokemon
>grade and sell

Same reason people are going crazy for crypto and bitcoin

black culture has taken over their social media

Social media clout.
It's just gambling for zoomers and balding white men.
The same could be said for asians and gacha games.
>>
>>712142480
People see Pokemon cards as an investment. It's funny because hardly anyone even plays the TCG. Scalpers are a fucking plague.
>>
>>712142646
Unironically, if you want to make some money like the guy that made the Breaking Bad game, just make that one card shop simulator game but with theft and assault mechanics.

>>
>>712142480
Because people are dumb enough to collect Pokémon cards. No one actually plays the TCG which is shocking considering how fast these things fly off the shelves. Watch any pack opening video watch these people literally throw the “commons” in the trash.

Twitch allowed virtual online casinos and one of the most popular streamers was a gigakike dumping millions into virtual slot machines and make millions more from subscriptions and sponsorships.
The Jewery was so obvious that Twitch had to ban it.
>>
>>712142872
>>712143184
I actually play the TCG and it barely effects us because we don't need the rarer full art cards the collectors want because they are just alt versions of other cards.
Most of these people aren't even opening them and hoping to make a profit by pulling rare cards. what they do is they either sell them at an upcharge online immediately which is the surefire way to make a profit.
Or they hold onto them hoping that the value will increase slightly or that some card from the series will become like 1st edition charizard and be worth well over 10 grand and hoping that people in the future will buy their packs hoping to get it which is retarded and unlikely.

i had 4 of the original pokemon booster boxes, like the ones from the late 90s / early 2000s. I opened all the packs but I had several binders that I stored all my pokemon cards and baseball / football cards in. I also had MTG cards.

My dad lost his job in late 2000s and we had to move across the country. Somehow I must have lost the binders of my cards, I mean by that time I didn't give a shit about pokemon or magic or my baseball / football cards anymore as I was playing video games then and they were probably inside some cabinet collecting dust for years by then. I have no idea what happened to them. It still kind of haunts me to this day.

A similar story is that when I was a teenager I gave all my old N64, Gamecube, PS1 and gameboy / GBA games to my sister who lived in another state. She had a garage sale in the early 2010s and she sold all of the games I gave her for a few dollars each, most of those games are worth like $80+ each now, and I had 3 copies of pokemon emerald including the boxes which she sold for a few bucks each. Why the fuck did I give her my games? Well I didn't play them anymore and I didn't really care, and she still played the N64 and gamecube from time to time so I just gave them to her and when I visited the house I would get to play some of the games too like mario party which we did all the time when we were kids.

God I made so many stupid mistakes. I also sold my entire Lego collection including tons of really expensive sets almost a decade ago now, and most of the sets I sold are now worth 3-4x as much money now. I hate myself.

People were doing that in the early 2000s. It was easy to tell that a heavy pack had a foil card in it.
They've made it more difficult in the last 10 years with the new holo foil methods having less weight variation, and by packing in online promo ad cards that are thicker cardboard with variable cut dimensions which makes the average weight of packs more random.

A lot of guys with nostalgia for Pokémon are 30-40 years old now and if they don't have a girlfriend or children then they have a lot of money to spend

damn that's rough the two most expensive meta cards in the current pokemon TCG format are Fezandipiti ex (which can be slotted into any deck since its main use is it allows you to draw 3 cards once during your next turn whenever your opponent defeated one of your pokemon in the previous turn) and secret box which is used by a few decks and both of those cost around $15.

You say that as if everything isn't tranny shit these days.
Thankfully that seems to not apply to the ff mtg cards. And the art of some of the new ff cards(the collector boosters that cost an arm and a leg and you arent even guaranteed it) is done by japanese ff artists and looks really good.

Silver. It's been dirt cheap for a while, and recently shot up to $35 an ounce. That's still really cheap considering how in-demand it is.
Alternatively, home media box sets (DVDs, blu-rays, UHD)

there isn't any in yugioh or pokemon though. Yugioh has a lot of yuri but japanese yuri has nothing to do with amerimutt lgbtdhjhadfs politics.

>Get rid of the plague in our country
>Trannies and Indians get all STD-riddled sex they crave while putting an, albeit small, dent in India's breeding problem
It's a match made in shit and I'm on board with it!

Same, man.
Had a collection of Pokemon cards from Base/Jungle/Fossil - Team Rocket/Trainers. Also had a collection of Yu-Gi-Oh, Digimon, Dragon Ball Z and Yu Yu Hakusho cards in a giant binder. After we moved half way across the country, I could never find the binder again when unpacking. Figured the packers stole it. My copies of Pokemon Red and Jurassic Park Operation Genesis for Xbox were missing as well.

>Logan Paul comes around "hey did you know pokeman cards are worth money and I got this ultra expensive (fake) charizard?"
>suddenly every npc on the planet now likes pokemon again

Unfortunately, it’s this. People like Logan Paul convinced an entire sphere of cryptofaggots, Jewtubers and wannabe invoosters that Pokemon cards are a failsafe market they can abuse to recover their crippling NFT debt, all the while lacking any self awareness of the fact that they’re going apeshit for Cardboard with Hitmonlee on it, in public mind you, instead of getting a job.

It is the new Tulipmania more or less. "Speculating" because the kids who wanted Charizard back during Pokemania and never got it are having their midlife crisises and there are only so many surviving cards to go around.

When was the last time people actually trusted on shame to do anything? I think it was stamping out white men with the whole “mansplaining” and “man spreading” and “white make tears” thing. There’s no point in shame anymore, no point in dignity either. We are what society makes us, look.

>all of a sudden?
That's been going on for 5 or so years by now.

You can make thousands selling these cards. Compare that to making $40 bucks an hour. People do this for a reason.
