Damn if only there were other compilers other than MSVC like clang and gcc.........

why not simply emulating android on windows, then using winlator to emulate windows on that emulated android, then setting up a linux virtual machine on that winlator instance and installing the ps3 emulator on that linux vm inside winlator inside android inside windows?

what could go wrong

aparently they have been working on one but it's early in development, there are issues that need to be worked out and is a little buggy, so don't expect anything soon (if I had to guess maybe in a year or so) though some comments say clang runs better than msvc and people wonder why they never used it in the first place

Technically speaking, the beginning of going downhill was when the jeet took over and started laying off most of the workers in favor of cheap labor.
Have in mind that windows doesn't have a QA team, it relies on insiders randomly finding bugs and deciding to report them.

Arch has a really good package manager (software that manages your apps and drivers) and it receives updates quickly. However, it can be a bit overwhelming to setup if you're new. Look into EndeavourOS. It's very close to Arch, but it has an easy and intuitive installer.

Well, they bragged about a significant portion of their code being written by AI now, then have an OS update which quite literally destroyed drives if you use them.
So chances are they let AI write some updates for multiple products and it just remains to be seen how fucked it all is as use cases eventually run across them.

Not him but a lot of us don't want our workspace to be removed every single time we shut off the computer. At any one time I have Notepad++, four to eight tabs of Explorer to various folders on my machine depending on what I'm doing, Spotify, GIMP, and Firefox open all at once. When I have to reboot my computer it means opening up 40+ tabs in Firefox which need to be refreshed and everything else I just mentioned.

I'm geniunely worried we're headed towards the warhammer timeline where people have no idea how computers work and just do random things to hopefully get them working. There is no reason why an idling computer would need to be shut off. It is not doing anything for you so it is not working components that actually age. the CPU is practically eternal, it's the GPU that might eventually wear out with 12 years of constant use mining bitcoins.

>>
>>720512497
i wish it was related to AI, but it really isn't.

MS has always been an absolute clusterfuck of a company internally. nobody actually improves systems, people just build layers around the old garbage like an onion without touching the inner layers. excel has layers dating back to the 90s.

amongst people who develop low-level cross-platform applications, it has been generally known that windows is technically stuck in the 90s with incredible amounts of fundamental issues that have barely been patched up, while linux and macOS have continued to improve over the years.
obviously, this is a known issue at MS, and since windows itself doesn't really drive the revenue of MS anymore these days and mostly just costs money, there was an ambitious project during the w10 days to replace all if the innards with linux internals and set up an emulation layer for backwards compatibility.
this project died because as always within MS, some management guy decided that they want to build themselves an empire within the company by starting another project or adding another onion layer that helps boost their career, and then we got windows 11.

as a developer and someone who knows a lot of people at MS, please just switch away from that piece of shit. all cross-platform developers and likely even MS itself will be better off when windows dies.
>>
>>720529379
The devs for RPCS3 are legitimately retarded and when they screw something up they won't take the blame and they will punish anyone who proves it. If you solved this issue and told them how to do, you would by association be proving them wrong in blaming MSVC and they will ban you for it, seriously.

AI has been around a lot longer than you think. the Kinect was programmed by AI
>>
>>720516848
Open your Event Viewer and scan around the hours you were sleeping and look for Wake Up events. There are dozens of simple things that can cause this. Even software installed on the PC can cause it if it has scheduled events (WAAAAAAY back when Instagram still didn't allow desktop posting, I ran my art account using a software that could post from desktop and after nearly a year of middle of the night wake ups I learned it would wake the PC up on a schedule at 3am to check for updates every night).

Since then I've also had my mouse and my network card both causing wake ups that I could disable.
>>
>>720536250
Generative AI was not a thing during the Kinect development and your retarded tech-slop news site you read that on doesn't know what they're talking about
>>
>>720533534
This for me except it was my mouse. Moving the mouse at all to register on the sensor during sleep woke the PC, eventually I narrowed it down to the fact that during the night when my AC would kick on, it could sometimes vibrate the desk JUST enough during the initial "CLUNK" of the compression turning on to move the mouse a millimeter since my desk was right up against the wall with the AC. Initially I resorted to flipping the mouse over when I went to bed lmao but later learned you could specifically deny wake privileges to specific hardware.
