Which is his best episode?
Can't think of a best but the worst is no doubt the Tyrian episode.
>>720968280Cupla Innata
CarnEvil
>>720968280Black Mirror
I always liked watching his dungeon siege episode. Something about his enthusiasm for that game is infectious.
>>720970690Sucks that he made it right before the whole dlc debacle happened which would've been right up his alley.
go to hell is a comfy short one
>>720968280For me, it's Realms of the Haunting. That was a journey.
>>720970690It's peak comfy, somehow he really conveys that long calm journey he talks about feeling playing it with the video, could also just be me going crazy.

I come back to Armed and Delirious all the time. It's such a weird game.
>>720968280Watching him brute force his way through Gothic in the most gorilla retard fashion and then claiming it's "necessary" will always be my favorite. He's one of those people you can really point at and say>he's the stupidest smart person I know
>>720968280Hellgate London
>>720968492Seconding this
>>720974029Isn't that just autism in a nutshell
>>720974029I really like the episodes where the game is so ridiculously bad and does actually say "Yes, we really expect you to brute force your way through all of this bullshit" like The Chosen or Clans, but then with comments like this I'll wonder how often that's accurate and how often he's just missing something totally obvious or ignoring a mechanic he just doesn't like or understand.
>>720968280The Deus Ex trilogy is undefeated. The Human Revolution fashion show, the ragdoll physics, the rant about consolidation. So many memorable moments and quotes.
>>720968280Either Trackmania or Veil of Darkness. Shout out to Division too where he starts talking about the crimes of ABC departments.>>720974206Ross is genuinely bad at videogames. In Revenant he completely sidestepped the combo mechanic and in Black Future of 88 he just ignores everything. I still love his rants and tangents, the gameplay is just secondary
Point and click adventure games gives Ross more than enough material to ramble on about stuff, but so do RTS games like Baldies (Always watch this one if it pops up in the feed). My absolute favourite episodes are ones like Bip Bop II where he goes through a lot of effort to preserve a lost game. The moment that the floppy disks for Bip Bop and Bip Bop III works it's fucking amazing.
>>720974360At least in a follow up he mentioned that the combos were a valid means of getting through combat, but you still had to wait around for ages to refill your stamina which is basically the same thing as waiting around to heal passively. Black Future 88 though, I could tell he was just an old confused man who genuinely had no fucking clue what a rougelite was. Not that roguelites are always the best at explaining their mechanics or intricacies, but it felt like watching someone try to learn a new language in real time. It's kind of a fascinating look into an old man being confused but intrigued by a cloud that nothing else on YouTube really offers.
More on that later... but first, let's talk about the music.
battleforgemage knight apocalypseclansthe chosen - well of soulsthe crewI like when he uses the game to talk about something more important and when he forces himself through a bad game and it isn't worth it.he has lowered my opinion of pc gaming.
>>720974717Why the fuck was that monster so tough?
>>720974148Ross has to be on the spectrum, very high functioning. I've been in those shoes forcing my own vision on a game plenty of times.
>>720974717I didn't like the "Ross plays a game he knows is terrible for 1 hour and 5 minutes" era of Game Dungeon.
>>720974263This is the one for me. But also any episode where he's playing some dystopian future adventure game is great since it makes him go on rants about future predictions and trying to overanalyze the setting
>>720975819Oh yeah, honorable mention to the Black Mirror episode, it's comfy halloween kino
>>720975661Those are usually kino, except mage knight that one is pretty whatever.
Gotta love that one where he ignores game mechanics, calls game bullshit and starts cheating.
>>720976083The Revenant video really rustled a lot of people's jimmies, didn't it?
I'm sure I haven't watched some of those but I don't remember which ones I have watched.
>>720974763Drm
>>720974029>>720974206In term of Gothic I don't think he even level up his weapon handling skills, which is ridiculous.
>>720968280I got a better one for ya. When is the new episode coming?
>>720970690True. I nevet really knew how much I wanted to play games with no respawning enemies and that feel of level progression until Ross. It's also why I loved the Gothic episode.
Which game would you like see him cover? For me it's Ace Attorney. I think there's a lot of potential for autistic rant about the series logic and legality of the procedures.
People who make fun of Ross are just jealous that they'll never be an autistic Polish girl's mail order husband.
>>720976990>girl
>>720976990I always forget Ross moved to Poland to marry and live with a qt3.14 gamer girl he met online and has survived multiple attempts by the moldmind to subjugate him, what a crazy life he has lived.
>>720976891Star Control 2. If I become rich I will pay him to make a game dungeon
>>720977065I have never seen anything that would even remotely suggest that Magda is a tranny.
>>720974206>>720974029Well, he's pretty open about it in Dungeon Siege video where he gives everyone a melee weapon reagrdless of the class simply because he likes it better that way.
>>720974009https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fUVuIx6zUcI think about this a lot
>>720977309NTA but Magda used to have "them/they" pronouns on her Twitter. I don't think she has them anymore though. But the damage is already done, she's clearly mentally ill (if the Final Fantasy yaoi didn't already clue you in)
>>720976729I don't think he will skip Halloween episode. That's at least. I hope we'll get something sooner but who knows.
Dungeon Siege made me play the game
>>720968492Probably has the best followup segment too.>If you feel an antiquated sense of teenage angst holding this, that's me going the extra mile for you
>>720968280I liked his episode about the Deus Ex games. He really nailed why I didn't care for HR's writing as much the older games, though at least it had some good characters to fall back onto. Can't say that about MD.
>>720977284agreed
>>720978057I think the dx hr is fine for the general audiences Sure everyone talking about augs isnt normal but its a video game for teens who go "oh right someone mentioned augs at one point I think, makes sense npcs remind me of that" when they're halfway through the game.
>>720968280Sonic Heroes is probably up there imo.
>>720978164It's *fine*, but that's the problem in general. The writing is just *fine*. DX and IW touched upon a lot of interesting topics with a speculative eye and managed to predict quite a few things with scary precision (I don't think anyone would've suspected we would have AI girlfriends this soon), but neither game ever took itself too seriously. I think HR didn't have to dumb the writing down for mass appeal, because imsims were never gonna be that popular in the first place and the good bits in HR are already strong. I think the average player, or teenagers, can still appreciate intelligent writing as long as you do it in a non-pretentious and entertaining way, and for all of their flaws, DX the original was definitely capable of that. It still manages to resonate with all kinds of people decades later who gave it a chance. When I was a teen I was hungering for games that said something interesting and shat on games like Bioshock Infinite and Gone Home for being pretentious, although I might be the outlier there because I've been on /v/ for like 13 years now.
>>720978402Why underestimate teenagers in the first place? If I remember correctly, you can still read books at that age so why would video game writing be above your grasp? You are not misremembering Bioshock Infinite being pretentious. You literally fight a ghost in that game.
>niggers never played any of those gamesEceleb shit
>>720978790>Why underestimate teenagers in the first place? If I remember correctly, you can still read books at that age so why would video game writing be above your graspSomething about the lowest common denominator.
>>720978961The lowest common denominator lives in Baltimore and goes by "lil' Uzi Xanax 69" on Soundcloud.I say fuck him. Games should not conform to future democrat voters.
>>720978961I think youtubers who do analysis of video games have vastly different experiences than the average player who dont play video games to think about anything, they dont retain details or remember themes or make connections between the game and real world. Ask a player what happened 10 minutes ago in the games story and they'd answer with very broad strokes because they dont remember anything specific.
>>720978942I played DX, Tyrian, Dungeon Siege and Sonic heroesWhat about other anons?
>>720977284Remember to tell him the original box included a printed map so he doesn't fly about aimlessly until the time limit runs out.
>>720979949TyrianQuarantineRtCWDungeon SiegeDeus ExDE:HRTrickstyleNot sure if I missed any but eh.
>>720979949I played Dungeon Siege as a kid when it came out and in fact found his channel because I was looking for a review of that game. Also played the Last Stand (still mad he refused to review the last one because of some retarded reason), Deus Ex.
Bump
Maabus.
>>720979949Deus Ex, Deus Ex Human Revolution, Dungeon Siege, Gothic, Hellgate London,
>>720968280Journeyman/Trax/GothosI'm a sucker for those old fmv games
deus ex is the best to watchmartian gothic is my favorite in a different way because it literally puts me to sleepi'd put that on to listen to while falling asleep and i don't think i made it past 10 minutes for monthsi've still never just sat down and watched it
>>720982925It was today that I found out that the developers of Journeyman made a Gundam FMV game. It's not good.
>>720968280Cant watch this guy his voice is annoying
>>720968280Fell off his channel hard when he started his SKH grift.
>>720983643>griftHe made no money from it.
>>720983643Stop Killing Hoes?
>>720983643>griftCan you please stop using this nonsense word in situations where it doesn't apply? Thank you.
>>720968280I don't know if it's the best, but the first video of his I saw was Test Drive 3 and that hooked me in one. I still rewatch that video regularly. TD3 was one of the first PC games I ever played as a kid, and I remember the absurd oversteering he complains about.Veil of Darkness video is also good, Puzzle Agent is good, The Crew video (original one) is good.. honestly, most of them are good. It's much harder to find bad ones.
>>720974029You didn't realize this by watching Freeman's Mind and his earlier videos in the early 2010s? Are you slow?
>>720968280Wish he'd play more old MS DOS games, feel like that's really untapped on Youtube. It's always about bing bing wahoos on the NES
>>720986956fm is a comedy machinimahow would that relate to game dungeon episodes

>>720973760This. If Ross is invested AND the game is batshit insane to begin with you have a 10/10 episode on your hands.
