I did use a keyboard originally with Zero 1 and you can definitely beat the game with just that, but I personally found it a lot easier to do combos with multiple weapons easier with a controller.

There is something alluring about the games that have stupid convoluted/grindy/esoteric systems that are prohibitive and anal(japanese) but make certain kinds of people go back. X5, Z4 and Z1 are the games I have replayed the most because they have customization options that almost nobody uses because they are behind frustrating features.>Zero has the worst elf breeding prices.>Zero 4 gives you like 50 different weapons that only hinder your ranking.
