What is the best game in the Assassin's Creed saga, the classics and the RPGs, in your opinion?

Origins.
1-3 All of the older Assassin's Creed games had pretty decent gameplay and systems that aren't unerstood by most who played the games, that actually make for quite a bit of complexity and good stealth, especially in Brotherhood and Revelations. They also had the best parkour systems in the franchise, from a technical standpoint, and social stealth (a big staple of what AC was all about) was at it's best. Unity is very decent as well. Black Flag is the same as 3 in a lot of ways, and of course has the additional pirate stuff, but for whatever reason, while I enjoyed the game, I never did on the level of AC2 and not to the extent other poeple seemed to. By the way, if you play AC2, I'd recommend the original version because the Ezio Collection "remastered" release redoes the graphics in a lot of ways. It's not attrocious, but it was the first version of the game I played, and when I eventually played the original, I preffered it. The atmosphere is more distinguished, visually. Similar can be said for Brotherhood, there were changes made to it as well, the remaster is overwhelmingly orange by comparison, like there was a filter put over it. That game is much less changed than AC2's "remaster". There were elements of visual flair removed in the remaster of 2. Like I said it's by no means "horrible", but I would recommend the original. If you want to see the old AC gameplay in action there's a good niche AC community on youtube centered around the old games. One channel I like is kinography. He has some videos explainin the ins and outs of AC1's systems, that helped me to appreciate the game, despite it's relative simplicity and certain age. Also good choreographed stealth gameplay.
>>721229889As for the RPG games, I didn't particularly like Odyssey. I don't think it's much of an AC game, and it has a number of issues. Origins was decent. Mirage was something closer to the older games (certainly not a full blown return by any stretch), and despite beginning effectively with the same shitty valhalla parkour system (the RPG games have the most downgraded versions of these systems by the way), they upgraded it as time went on, and you can actually make something of it. The efforts there were a good step.Valhalla made me depressed and I snapped the disc in half and threw it out.

>>721225526I enjoyed the RPGs because they played the least like Assassin's Creed games and Assassin's Creed has always been shit.
>>721225526Overall, the Enzo games, and I also really enjoyed Syndicate. But the best one was IV even though - or maybe even because - probably 60% of the game had nothing to do with the AC formula.
>>721232349The bad part about IV was that they made a fantastic pirate adventure game, then bolted on a really shitty Assassin's Creed game to it.
>>721232349Based fellow syndicate enjoyer. I always found it a more polished, functional version of unity, but for some reason most of /v/ hates it with a passion

>>721232349Having played Syndicate, it's pretty underrated. The only thing I don't like is Evie being confirmed as jeet'd
>>721225526My favorites are: Revelations, 3, Shadows
>>721232545Unity developed quite the bandwagon for its parkour but that's where the positives ends imo.
>>721233563I regret not getting Syndicate when they gave it for free I think two years ago. I refuse to give money to Ubi now and pirating it is beneath me kek

1 is the best game and I'm not saying that to be contrarian. The story and setting are more grounded and the plot feels like early Dan Brown which is just enough to be evocative and interesting.2 continues the line, but I like the overal gameplay less. It becomes on-foot GTA and not like the first game, which in theory was very focused: You have X amount of targets > gather intel about a target > kill target. The problem was that the intel-gathering quests were very lame and same, and that after each kill, you reset position in the cloister. The main storyline is acceptable up until 3 or Revelations. The only 'crazy' AC game I enjoyed was Odyssey.
