Definitive edition is on Dolphin as always
>>721338761why even change the textures?>more work for a result no one asked for
$70 + $40 amiibos for pajeet outsourced galaxy
I imagine normal gamepad controls might be worth the updated version unless Galaxy (especially 2) has an alternative to PrimeHack
All the Nintendo remasters have been pretty bad, shit missing, buggy, censored.
>>721338898Literally takes 1 minute to remap buttons in Dolphin so both games are perfectly playable with a normal pad. Definitely not worth that deranged price
Why even bring it up, nintendumbs will still slop it up.Not my problem.
>>721339171this is why they charge so much, they know very well most people are too dumb or lazy to do that
>>721338918The Xeno remasters are pretty good if you can get over the animefied character models I guess.
>>721338761>Definitive edition is on Dolphin as always>Need wiimotes if you don't want bother with controller settings
>>721339389>if you don't want bother with controller settings>>721339171
>>721338761Jesus Christ
>>721339307>All the Nintendo remasters>The Xeno remasters are pretty goodntaNintendo didn't make those...
>>721338761Dithering/repeating texture =!= intentional square texture you dumb piece of shit. These games were played on a 480p CRTV back in the day, and the texture was intended to blur and create the illusion of a more solid/less blocky texture.
>>721339691You are mentally ill if you believe those aren't intentional, especially the bee level when it literally gives everything a gardeny look and you can absolutely see them on a blurry shit TV. Platformers use wonky patterns since the 80s
>>721338761Imagine being so poor you can't spend $70 + $80 on Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 and their amiibos.
>>721340102imagine being so poor you think affording $80 means you aren't poor kek
>>721339691Mario games still have that on 3DS which is LCD
fairly good bait picture. kudos to whoever made it originally.
>>721339660>Nintendo didn't make those...Monolith is Nintendo anon, for like over a decade now.
>>721340285>baitThe remaster collection really does fuck up those textures, see for yourselfhttps://www.ntower.de/news/95993-super-mario-galaxy-super-mario-galaxy-2-neue-screenshots-und-cover-zum-doppelpac/
>>721339171But have you actually played it? The whole way through? It features sections like swimming and ball balancing that aren't controlled normally and G2 uses the pointer for Yoshi
>>721340369i don't think you still get it. but i guess most wouldn't. that's why it's so good bait. having smb3 and sonic there is just cherry on top of it all.
>>721340373Yes it's all in that picture, the motion minigames are extremely simple to work out>bird flying up is pointing Wiimote upwards => mapped to right stick upwards (IIRC) and vice versa>ball rolling up is tilting Wiimote forward => mapped to digipad up>holding Wiimote upright for the ball minigame literally can be toggled => mapped to Select buttonActually would shock me if Nintendo came up with a better waggle-free solution lol
>>721340723I think you are just coping and retarded
>>721339171I am saving this imagety
>>721339174>Why even bring it up, nintendumbs will still slop it up.why are tendies like this unironically? you would think not having to pay an exorbitant sum for the best versions of 20 y/o games is good news.
>>721340102>amiibo now cost near as much as a Pop-Up Parade sculpt
>>721338761Is it so difficult to hire coders to do this? If you look at the Unleashed project, it only came about because Xenia/RPCS3 made a big breakthrough with the help of crowdfunding, which also helped the Unleashed guys. And seeing how much they received for the project, it's barely enough to feed themselves. For profit, and with a slightly larger budget, they could hire these coders for these projects. There is a problem of nepotism in these companies that people barely acknowledge.
>>721341581What seems to be even more difficult is simply not changing anything besidse resolution and some niceties. But I guess they have to "improve" random stuff for media articles and viral marketing.
>>721340102Imagine wanting to.
>>721339171Kino
>>721341313The kirby ones are $50 but it's okay because you can put Waddle Dee in Kirby's car
>>721339171Also if you use a dualshock 4 or 5 you can use the gyro controls and map it to the pointer. I have the waggle movement also mapped to L1. It's perfectly playable
We’re still buying. If you haven’t pre-ordered already, you’re poor.
>>721339171>dolphin plays wii games and gets rid of motion controlsI only used it for GameCube games. I feel a little ridiculous only finding this out now, but better late than never. Thanks, anon.
>>721339171Did the same thing years ago. The only thing that's somewhat clunky is aiming to shoot starbits at things but it still works well enough because a) the game rarely expects any of your motion inputs to be very precise, and b) you shouldn't be wasting a lot of starbits anyway unless you want to grind.Yoshi's tongue has a form of aim assist, so that's never an issue.
>>721338761That pricetag is insane even for Nigtendo.
>>721338898The Galaxy games have Classic Controller 'presets' but you lose Dynamic Input Textures as opposed to just mapping the controls to a controller yourself.
>>721338761there is nothing more cattle than buying remasters
>>721343569>The Galaxy games have Classic Controller 'presets'How do you use those? I always made my own which are probably bette
>>721340102Every adult man who collects these is on an FBI list by the way.
>>721344849Apparently they're riivolution patches. You use them like you would use those patches.
>>721341952>not wanting botched texures for 40$ is autism
>>721339171I tried to remap controls in Galaxy on my Steam Deck and while the first game was fine, 2 was genuinely unplayable if I had to use Yoshi.
>>721339174Tendies are easiest retards to bait.
>>721347369What's the bait? It's useful information for tendies
>>721344790Maybe if it didn't keep working you would get something different.
>>721347268>2 was genuinely unplayable if I had to use Yoshi. Then you did something wrong, Yoshi literally has aim assist so you just have to approximately flick the cursor towards what you want to target. As people mentioned you can also use gyro on Dolphin but picrel is actually the best and comfiest way to play the game, probably forever.
Nintendo released Mario Galaxy on the Nvidia Shield in China, so there’s also an Android TV version available.https://youtu.be/nR3B-AggJKEhttps://youtu.be/JMQWcl_99fs
>>721347268iirc first game is actually harder to play, it wants you to use the pointer for all the menus and selecting levels etc. 2 lets you do all that with stick
>>721339171Testing this one for the last 30 min and so far it works great.Bump
>>721340373>G2 uses the pointer for YoshiI just use the gyro in my old switch 1 controller for pointer stuff, works a charm. Been playing Sin & Punishment 2.
>>721338761If the white walls where the queen sits are just empty now then it's a major fuckup. They look like a noble wicker basket in the original, matching the twisted columns behind Mario here.
>>721339691Play the game.
>>721339972>Platformers use wonky patterns since the 80sPlatformers in general? Wait, you mean a Sonic game being included with the Mario games in the OP wasn't a masterful bait tactic? You're serious?
>>721352148Why would that be bait?
>>721352148looks like they are going for a similar thing
>>721338918This is Nintendo at its worst
>>721338761Do these versions run native on switch? If yes then they might be worth it but if they're trying to sell lazy half-emulated games to me again then they can burn in hell.
>>721349059>china gets the best version of tp and galaxy
>>721339171What is this. Why the replies? Did the vaccine reduced the IQ of vaxxies or something? This is just input mapping settings, most of it is done automatically.
>>721354446If shit like that didn't IQ gate people out of emulation Nintendo wouldn't be churning out remasters
>>721353136>If yes then they might be worth it>$40 each>hire him! textures made by indians>switch 1 is dead/switch 2 is not worth havingi guess you could emulate the remasters on yuzu but even then i don't know why
So...you're saying don't bother playing it on my Wii via a CRT?
>>721354964I'd rather do that than play a shitmaster but I'm not seeing benefits an original Wii has over Dolphin.
>>721338761honeyhive galaxy is so comfy
>>721355434Because I don't know how to set up a Wiimote to properly operate with a PC.I know Galaxy relies on pointing at the screen to collect those star bit things.
>>721356281At least it was until Lootendo fucked everything up.
>>721356404See >>721339171
>>721340102>>721341313Are those really just the Amiibos not the game + Amiibo? Wat
>>721356549But is that a better way to play?Skyward Sword HD has a button control option but the weird way you have to control the camera as a result kind of undermines it and makes me wish I could just play it with motion controls.
>>721347268trackpad mouse for wiimote pointer>>721356404it actually works great as a m+kb game too
>>721357260Doesn't having an analog stick make moving around better than trying to WASD it in a game like this?
>>721358173I thought that was going to be an issue as well, but I started messing around with the game recently and it hasn't been an issue. I guess you lose the ability to have Mario walk...if anyone was ever doing that.
>>721358397Developers using analog control with as much finesse as they were granted by it is rare. They include animations for things like walking or tiptoeing but never integrate these into gameplay but on the rarest of occasions.
>>721357219>But is that a better way to play?Yes. It's already better just by dint of being able to spin-attack with a button instead of waggling. The spin is often key and even has fun combos like the homing ground pound (spin in air -> ground pound) or attacking while long-jumping (spin => long jump) so not having to waggle is greatThe entire starbit thing is some stupid gimmick that shouldn't discourage you at all. Yes doing it with a Wiimote is more precise but stick is arguably comfier and works more than well enough to pick some up now and then. It's really not like you have to pick up every single one you see lol
>>721358397>>721358173but also if you have a playstation or switch controller just set up the gyro to pointer, bind right bumper to reset pointer, and then you'll literally be playing with the same controls as the 3d all-stars collection. Or left hand controller right hand mouse if you're hyper-autistic about it. There are several solutions available that will make the game play just fine, I'd actually argue better than wagglan' that stupid DIL-DO around.
>>721358845>switch controllerI eliminated my Pro controller to get Switch 2 Pro controllers...
>>721357219>but the weird way you have to control the cameraIsn't it just normal camera controls...while holding a button? Agree it's not great but IIRC the original didn't even have any manual camera at all. But yeah wouldn't recommend playing Zelda SS without the intended motion controls for the first time. It's not the same as Mario Galaxy where the motion stuff is mostly a forced gimmick.
>>721358886the fate of the consoomerit's ok, I'm probably buying the collection anyway, but people should know they have plenty of options to not to and still play these 15 year old games
>>721359040meds
>>721359105Yeah but when your brain is trained to be like "I want to look at something over there" but then remember that by just using the stick alone that draws your weapon it's jarring.Kind of wish the game had an option to do it in reverse, just to see if that ends up being more natural.
>>721338918More and more I find myself questioning what is the point of localization with stuff like this. It's not localizing, it's just changing shit. We have lotteries and gambling addiction in the US
