Literally takes 1 minute to remap buttons in Dolphin so both games are perfectly playable with a normal pad. Definitely not worth that deranged price

Why even bring it up, nintendumbs will still slop it up.
Not my problem.

Dithering/repeating texture =!= intentional square texture you dumb piece of shit. These games were played on a 480p CRTV back in the day, and the texture was intended to blur and create the illusion of a more solid/less blocky texture.

You are mentally ill if you believe those aren't intentional, especially the bee level when it literally gives everything a gardeny look and you can absolutely see them on a blurry shit TV. Platformers use wonky patterns since the 80s

i don't think you still get it. but i guess most wouldn't. that's why it's so good bait.
having smb3 and sonic there is just cherry on top of it all.
>>
>>721340373
Yes it's all in that picture, the motion minigames are extremely simple to work out
>bird flying up is pointing Wiimote upwards => mapped to right stick upwards (IIRC) and vice versa
>ball rolling up is tilting Wiimote forward => mapped to digipad up
>holding Wiimote upright for the ball minigame literally can be toggled => mapped to Select button

Actually would shock me if Nintendo came up with a better waggle-free solution lol

Is it so difficult to hire coders to do this? If you look at the Unleashed project, it only came about because Xenia/RPCS3 made a big breakthrough with the help of crowdfunding, which also helped the Unleashed guys. And seeing how much they received for the project, it's barely enough to feed themselves. For profit, and with a slightly larger budget, they could hire these coders for these projects. There is a problem of nepotism in these companies that people barely acknowledge.
>>
>>721341581
What seems to be even more difficult is simply not changing anything besidse resolution and some niceties. But I guess they have to "improve" random stuff for media articles and viral marketing.

Also if you use a dualshock 4 or 5 you can use the gyro controls and map it to the pointer.
I have the waggle movement also mapped to L1. It's perfectly playable

I only used it for GameCube games. I feel a little ridiculous only finding this out now, but better late than never. Thanks, anon.
>>
>>721339171
Did the same thing years ago. The only thing that's somewhat clunky is aiming to shoot starbits at things but it still works well enough because a) the game rarely expects any of your motion inputs to be very precise, and b) you shouldn't be wasting a lot of starbits anyway unless you want to grind.

Yoshi's tongue has a form of aim assist, so that's never an issue.
>>
>>721338761
That pricetag is insane even for Nigtendo.
>>
>>721338898
The Galaxy games have Classic Controller 'presets' but you lose Dynamic Input Textures as opposed to just mapping the controls to a controller yourself.

Then you did something wrong, Yoshi literally has aim assist so you just have to approximately flick the cursor towards what you want to target. As people mentioned you can also use gyro on Dolphin but picrel is actually the best and comfiest way to play the game, probably forever.

iirc first game is actually harder to play, it wants you to use the pointer for all the menus and selecting levels etc. 2 lets you do all that with stick

Because I don't know how to set up a Wiimote to properly operate with a PC.

But is that a better way to play?

Skyward Sword HD has a button control option but the weird way you have to control the camera as a result kind of undermines it and makes me wish I could just play it with motion controls.

>>721357260
Doesn't having an analog stick make moving around better than trying to WASD it in a game like this?
>>
>>721358173
I thought that was going to be an issue as well, but I started messing around with the game recently and it hasn't been an issue. I guess you lose the ability to have Mario walk...if anyone was ever doing that.
>>
>>721358397
Developers using analog control with as much finesse as they were granted by it is rare.

They include animations for things like walking or tiptoeing but never integrate these into gameplay but on the rarest of occasions.
>>
>>721357219
>But is that a better way to play?
Yes. It's already better just by dint of being able to spin-attack with a button instead of waggling. The spin is often key and even has fun combos like the homing ground pound (spin in air -> ground pound) or attacking while long-jumping (spin => long jump) so not having to waggle is great

The entire starbit thing is some stupid gimmick that shouldn't discourage you at all. Yes doing it with a Wiimote is more precise but stick is arguably comfier and works more than well enough to pick some up now and then. It's really not like you have to pick up every single one you see lol
>>
>>721358397
>>721358173
but also if you have a playstation or switch controller just set up the gyro to pointer, bind right bumper to reset pointer, and then you'll literally be playing with the same controls as the 3d all-stars collection. Or left hand controller right hand mouse if you're hyper-autistic about it. There are several solutions available that will make the game play just fine, I'd actually argue better than wagglan' that stupid DIL-DO around.
>>
>>721358845
>switch controller

I eliminated my Pro controller to get Switch 2 Pro controllers...
>>
>>721357219
>but the weird way you have to control the camera
Isn't it just normal camera controls...while holding a button? Agree it's not great but IIRC the original didn't even have any manual camera at all. But yeah wouldn't recommend playing Zelda SS without the intended motion controls for the first time. It's not the same as Mario Galaxy where the motion stuff is mostly a forced gimmick.
>>
>>721358886
the fate of the consoomer

it's ok, I'm probably buying the collection anyway, but people should know they have plenty of options to not to and still play these 15 year old games

>>
>>721359105
Yeah but when your brain is trained to be like "I want to look at something over there" but then remember that by just using the stick alone that draws your weapon it's jarring.

Kind of wish the game had an option to do it in reverse, just to see if that ends up being more natural.
>>
>>721338918
More and more I find myself questioning what is the point of localization with stuff like this. It's not localizing, it's just changing shit. We have lotteries and gambling addiction in the US
