It's freaking painful what modern day namco have done to Tekken.
Used to be my favorite series, T8 is my least played Tekken game to date, I was considering that maybe Armor King was going to draw me back but the game itself is a fucking mess.
Long combos/juggles have been an issue since T6, crazy to think the devs managed fuck up even harder than they already did.

Because the actual FGC is more than willing and capable to play any fighting game in existence, so going off the rails with the later versions impacts literally nothing. There is no real opportunity costs. Tourists can cry about SF6 and slime dash until the cows come home because that's all they'll ever get to play, whereas real fightan players can switch to whatever game in the world for a set, no matter age or popularity.

I'm really curious how much of a fuck up Season 3 will be for T8, the game needs a complete overhaul, Capcom did with SFV and actually turned the game around.

No such thing. The term itself is inherently dishonest because it implies that the fanbases of every fighting game in existence do and should connect and overlap. You never hear about "the FPS community," "the jRPG community," "the MOBA community" because none of those exist (just like the FGC). There are just games in those genres and people who play some of them. "The FGC" is a marketing term used by a clique of influencers to be able to easier shill disparate games to their audiences.

Street Fighter II: Rainbow Edition and Super Street Fighter II Turbo. Which is to say a damn long time ago. You can unironically thank modders for showing the world that people like fast-paced fighting games since among other things, Rainbow Edition's main draw was doubling the speed (if not more) of everything.

I've played Tekken fo 20 years. I used to go to gatherings and tourneys at the arcade back in the T5 and 6 days. I have thousands and thousands of hours in Tekken. I love it. It's my favourite game.
And I fucking HATE Tekken 8. The flashy bullshit UE effects are way too much, and every launcher leading to an 11 hit juggle is so stupid but the worst -- WORST -- thing about it is the addition of heat. Having supers (fucking gay) was bad enough, but having meter that you burn should not be in a 3D game. It just makes every round play the same: attack into something +on block into heat into attack that's +on block into heat dash cancel into attack. Then your opponent does the same back to you. Once you've both done that, the round plays like regular Tekken but you've only got 15% of your life bar left, so who gives a shit?
Tekken needs a destroy and rebuild revamp where a juggle with more than 3 or 4 hits is very difficult and go back to movement, like Tag1, older Soul Calibur, or older VF.
Fuck Tekken 8 and fuck Michael Murray right in his ugly fucking face.

I’d argue the problem is that nowadays no one has an actual vision. They want to appeal to the casuals so they’ll play, they want to appeal to streamfags watching tournaments, and that means trying to make games like that. They can’t be too difficult, casuals will hate it. They need to be flashy, or streamfags will think it’s boring. Airdashes have to be slow if they exist because otherwise SF fags will hate it for having “no neutral”. DPs need to cost meter to have invincibility because people will complain otherwise. An easy combo should do half your life because otherwise the game is too hard. Defense can’t exist because streamfags will spam sleep related emotes. And it goes on and on until there’s a specific way a fighting game is meant to be designed to the general audience. Anything janky and weird, even if fun and not unfair will be patched out. Anything outside of the norm will be patched out. So now a lot of these games are a fucked up mess where they blend aspects of each kind of fighting game, without any of the reasons to play each kind. It doesn’t satisfy people that want nuanced neutral games, it doesn’t satisfy people that want batshit anime action, and it doesn’t satisfy people that prefer 3D games.

Tekken should have more granular movement and less tracking involved. It doesn't really have the freedom to experiment with such ideas, but I do want Tekken to go to a more "realistic" route instead of being a totally gamey mess. You've got no shortage of fighters with established fighting styles, real and fantastical. All the sfx inflation has made things worse when they couldn't even nail the basic hit effects rightly.
