How the fuck did we end up here? There's exist almost no bluetooth controllers with low latency. Why do all controllers have so high bluetooth stick latency? Is bluetooth really that shitty of a protocol, or is it because everyone cheaps out on the bluetooth chips or something?
fagit
>>722096317Maybe you're just an autist who whines and cries about 1ms of delay when shit is perfectly acceptable. Maybe your hardware is just shit and out of date with the proper modern protocols. Maybe you're just a retard and bought chinesium shit. Im just gonna go with "OP is a faggot" and move on.
>>722096456This is GameSir Tarantula Pro, gamesaar's halo product. There's clearly more than "little bit" of bluetooth latency here. It's great controller but would be billion times better without the latency
>>722096317GuliKit is the only one using good bluetooth chipset
>>722096456What? Why do you feel threatened by these facts?
>>722096317Bluetooth was primarily designed for low power. Latency was not a priority since the applications it was originally for were not particularly latency sensitive. It was adopted for other additional applications because it was ubiquitous in device and could be “good enough” to provide basic performance. Consoles deal with this problem in proprietary ways. If you’re on PC every reputable controller will have a 2.5Ghz WiFi mode that avoids the issue. And if you’re on mobile wrf are you doing? If you absolutely need a mobile controller get a backbone or something similar that connects via usb-c.
yes. bluetooth IS that shitty of a protocolits dogshit on every level and should have been left behind for something better in the 2010s
low latency in general is not a given, it's why every jewtuber is shilling for gamesar t3 lite (wired controller) and their g7 pro, because they're low on latency
I use a sony headset and a dual shock, both on bluetooth. They work flawlessly and are wonderful.
>>722098179This is the physiognomy of average T3 Lite enjoyer, what's your excuse?
>>722096317>slow protocol is slowWooow
>>722098520I'm simply not going to buy Apex 5. What do you say to that?
>>722098709apex 5 doesn't even have mechanical trigger locks, and is still using hall effect instead of TMR, its a joke.
>>722096317Because it is still cheaper to connect via USB if latency is too much of an issue.
>>722099038Using a wired controller is a joke tho. Fortunately I have a elves 2 coming, and I'm gonna buy the TT Max whenever it's coming out on October. I was looking into beitbong 70, zd excellence and apex 5 (2 of those have unique trigger mechanisms, but seems to only be useful for pc gaming, which I don't do) but it seems they all have their own issues/downsides or whatever (someone had to use sandpaper to make the zd excellence's symmetrical faceplate more usable https://www.hlplanet.com/zd-o-excellence-review-part-2/ ). I'm gonna give GuliKit the business since they seem to be on a roll now, while waiting if GameSaar can bring on revisions of their existing controllers/do something more innovative than release an xbox controller
>>722099471where are you getting all this from?
>>722099724I saw a korean youtuber do a comparison on 3 controllers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhparSxuVHU You can listen it with english dubbed audio, and for maximum context it's recommended to watch vids of the 3 controls individually, on the order of release, so can better understand. Basically apex 5 has its pros, but generally speaking it's not very good, both zd and beitbong come up stronger, beitbong only issue is the questionable reliability since allegedly someone broke their stick once. If reliability is issue then ZD comes out strongest, if not then beitbong 70 looks good candidate. Basically there's no real reason to buy Apex 5 since it's not innovative (still using HE when everyone is using TMR or capacitive), takes steps backwards (lower stick resolution than apex 4), and doesn't have mechanical locks for triggers (which are useful for that unique trigger vibration apex has). Beitbong has also unique trigger vibration implementation that's similar to how Apex does it, but unlike Apex, it actually has mechanical trigger locks.
>>722096317Just take the wired-pill already anon.
>>722100498When I put an order on elves 2, I did it because it has the saturn style d-pad. If I had known that there's only this few low latency bluetooth controllers on gamepadla, I would've ordered ES or ES Pro also (so they would've arrived together). I guess I still could, but since TT Max is coming on October I guess I'll hold out until that comes.
>>722096317Typically if controller manufacturers want low latency wireless they put effort into 2.4ghz instead, which is actually stable. Only Sony and Gulikit bother with good bluetooth chips, but even with their great average wireless latency they aren't perfectly consistent in responsiveness. That said, 2.4ghz often has compatibility issues with non-PC platforms, and there's some edge cases like the Switch polling USB at 125Hz but Bluetooth at 500(?)Hz where the Sony/Gulikit approach is preferable.
gulikit is the new gamesir, while real gamesir is morphing to become like 8bitdo.. I guess with complacency you start "taking things easy", "conservative designs", and the innovation dries up. The moment you stop experimenting is when you become a furniture salesman
Why not just buy a 2.4Ghz controller instead of a bluetooth controller?
>>722100943Yeah switch has some weird stuff. However what's cool is how open the platform is, pretty much any bluetooth controller will work on switch
>>722101132I mostly game on switch 2 now, and I think the 2.4ghz might not work with switch most of the time
>>722098520Is he gay tho
>>722096317First time heard about Gulikit. The ES Pro looks cool and actually not as expensive as I thought, but for the love of me I never quite like that kind of Dpad. I also have to admit I never actually tried it. How is the Dpad for fighting game in general? Mainly for the quarter/half moves. I remember throwing my X360 gamepad because of how ugly the dpad feels.
>>722096317>3.53>slow

>>722102000Cool, thanks.
>wireless>precision gamingPick one nigga
>>722102000nta but this es pro looks good. I want a stiff one too, but it seems vader 4 couldn't do it. This vid gives me optimism that it's possible to do diagonal stick even with tight design (so it's not loose like saturn one), but it seems to be controller specific whether diagonals can be done well on the controller or not.
>>722102516>wireless>precision gamingYou called?
Just why can't Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo stop using potentiometers...
Oh no wireless controllers add 2 ms of input lag i just can't heckin use them
One thing is for sure, there's zero reason to buy any switch pro controller, when chinks are all so good and flavourful with all these different designs. We're truly getting spoiled
>>722103547See>>722096876
>>722103692I'll never be able to take that name seriously.
>>722103692This one is my favorite, since you don't need to remove modules to change its layout, but sadly it's not compatible with switch
>>722103692>Use GameSaar's chinkpad because /v/tards recommended it>Right face button repeatedly gets stuck in it's socket after a month of light useWhy did you lie to me?
>>722099471not a joke when I'm getting 2-4 ms of input latency.
>>722104112Which controller specifically?
>>722104318ok ill come clean. I already have a t3 lite, but since I don't like reconnecting wires, the current one (grey) will be for pc, while a new one I ordered (white) will be for game console use. Yes that will mean I'll have 2x T3 Lites
>falling for the wireless memeskill issue
>>722104332The tarantula
>>722103692GAMESAAAAARRR
>gulikit market dominanve established with couple of their B controllers having ultra low bluetooth latency>they're one of few 3rd parties capable waking switch 2>their halo product TT Max isn't even out yet until OctoberGuliKit bros we're truly eating good. These 8shitdon'ts are running out of ideas
>>722104815>when you're B team is enough to win competition's A team
Wire up then, tardo. It's just a particularly difficult, nearly impossible feat to set up extremely low latency hardware like that. It's not just the controller creators, it's the systems and platforms. You have to have mobo bluetooth support for the newest shit, and the "new shit" improves every god damned year, consoles are locked to whatever the most recent is the year it hits production testing so usually 1 year before release, and even then they're usually cooking up specific codecs for supporting their own controllers cause they don't WANT third party controllers.Just fucking wire up if latency is truly an issue for you. Everything besides twitch-tism FPS and fighting games can be totally crushed even with a 30ms delay regardless, no game is designed to be that tight, again, besides autism fps and fighting games. And those are joke genres anyway.
>>722105372>why yes I do like cinematic games how did you know
Legitimate question, why haven't controllers adopted 2.4ghz bands like the vast majority of (not cheap chinkshit) mice?
beitong kunpeng 70 truly is the flydigi apex 5 killer , it's everything apex 5 should've been holy shit
>>722105952Careful with what you say, this is a GuliKit thread
>>722096317>How the fuck did we end up here?normalfaggotsno, seriously. wires are better 99% of the timethe only real problem is connectors are too fucking frail and don't play well with gyro control
The BT stack isn't the issue. DS4Windows with DS4 reports sub 2ms network latency at 500hz.My Quest 3 VR controllers with debug overlay report 0.4ms 99% of the "latency" in a controller is the travel time when pressing a button.
>>722096317Who uses Bluetooth? Consoles have their own frequencies and PC players should be using wired or dongles.
>>722096317Feels good being a wired chad.
>>722106239sorry. here have some tt max
>>722104112>>722104587Oh shit, he actually bought it!HEY GUYS, WE GOT ANOTHER SUCKER HAHAHAHAHAHA!
>>722106459Wow I can't believe my favorite controller could be 2 weeks away. Then it's gonna take another 2 weeks for it to arrive. A fucking month in total just to have symmetrical controller with an actual D-Pad. Fucking hell
>>722106883Its easy just use elves 2 while you wait
>>722106459>>722107002wtf is this grey color tho? I thought it was gonna be white>the controller itself looks fucking good though
>>722106459>raised d-padJust why?
>>722107454I think it could help to make diagonals happen more easily or something
the fastest wired mouse has 0.6ms of latencythe fastest wireless mouse has 0.9ms of latencythe fastest bluetooth mouse has 7ms of latencywhy would you expect a controller to be any better
>>722107230White controllers would just become yellow over time, even if you don't use them.
This thing looks so tempting
>>722107778I guess grey is better than black which seems to be the default color of all controllers
>>722096876>gamesaar's halo projectGamesaar discontinued it and refreshed it because it sucked, the firmware needed to be totally rewritten to fix its issues
apex 5 and beiton 70 both seem to have adaptive triggers. apex has slightly more extensive game list, but beiton is adding more games each month. apex could have slightly better build quality maybe, but beiton has mech lock for triggers, whilst on apex only lock is on software. I'm not sure how big deal this adaptrive trigger vibration thing is because I've never used it, I don't even know wtf is hd rumble that some controllers have and I have switch 2
>>722107778Yellowed aged plastic is kino as fuck thoughbeit. Its like aged cheese, some people enjoy it, same with aged white guitars that turned yellow, there's a reason a White Strat is gold standard regarding looks.
>>722108793The review of said control https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TR0Gt4PqcSk , obviously with auto-dub on
>>722108793Good thing you only play tower defense games so you don't need any rumble
>>722109183but anon, if I don't have a controller with adaptive triggers, I'll never know what the sensation of adaptive trigger is? Or how it would compare to HD Rumble? It's like coke, gotta do at least once, right?
>he can't predict gameplayYou'd never make it in a local tournament.
>>722109594You had enough of your plastic coke sir.
>>722103692>>722104045It looks cool, but it's about as useful as hunt and peck on a keyboard. How long does it actually take you to remember where a certain controller's buttons are?
I love my V4P but other than adaptive triggers, I don't see reason for Apex 5. The beitang 70 seems to retain same features I have on V4P (lockable triggers, easily adjustable sticks) and also the adaptive trigger of apex, whilst with Apex 5 you have to take more steps backwards (adjusting stick resistance takes longer, since it's done with a tool , and there's no lock for triggers, a feature almost all of my 3rd party controllers have) .
