Reasons why I am perfectly fine with EA being gutted by private equity1: Killed Franchises>Mirror's Edge - Made a shitty sequel and shelved the franchise when it didn't sell>Plants vs Zombies - Made a shitty spinoff and shelved the franchise when it didn't sell>Peggle - Made a shitty sequel and shelved the franchise when it didn't sell>Insanaquarium - Didn't even bother trying to make anything with it.>The Sims - Turned into DLC Hellhole>Titanfall - Killed and turned into shitty live action battle royale>Simcity - Rebooted the franchise and got btfo so hard by cities skylines they shelved the franchise>SSX - rebooted the franchise and got man when it failed so they shelved the franchise>Command and Conquer - studio was eaten then they shat out a broken remaster>Spore - enough said2: Mobile Shit>Plants vs Zombies 2>Peggle Blast>Bejeweled Blitz>The Sims Freeplay (And later mobile)>Simcity Buildit>Monopoly Go (and a few other hasbro board games)>EA Sports in general>Dungeon Keeper Mobile>Burnout Crash3: Scummy Lootboxes>Fifa>Madden>Battlefield>Star Wars Battlefront>Apex Legends>F1>SkateBe real. If there's one company that deserves it, it's these shits.
It won't be gutted.
>>722223792I would not only be fine with it, I would be pleased about it. Fuck them. Fuck them buying studios just to close them. Fuck their microtransactions. Fuck them ruining IPs built by better people. I hoped they get completely destroyed. Vengeance.
>>722223792I'm not the sort of person who celebrates when developers shut, I was even feeling bad about Ubisoft dying but EA is the exception. All they have ever done is buy up and kill developers I liked, everything is better if they disappear.
>>722223792Mirror's Edge: Catalyst wasn't that badEA sucks though
>>722225530It's literally the private equity playbookBuy with debt, pump up cash flow metrics by cutting costs, divest before systemic issues caused by cost cutting cause yield to fallI'm not saying ea is some kind of powerhouse of innovation today, but you should expect to see their franchises to rapidly get even more stale or to be canned completely as they shift their focus to make the resale look good in a few years
>>722231653Not really, PE usually maximizes value through restructuring. It's not going to be like Toys R Us where they suck out all the money.Likely, they will either sell off old franchises, slim down the employees, or some other cost reduction or revenue generating methods. They aren't going to destroy their most profitable parts like Battlefield, FIFA, and Apex Legends. In fact, they may refocus their efforts and improve these aspects.
>>722223792>Saudis turn shit around and actually start making good games again without gay shitor>EA continues to be trash or becomes even more trash so ill just continue not buying EA games like the last 15 yearseither way i win
