Neat puzzles but christ the writing. Was this actually written by a 14 year old fedoralord? I've never seen a game get so angry for not agreeing with its edgy pseudo-nihilistic philosophy before.

I don't even remember the game asking me any questions, I barely remember the story at all.
One day you'll too learn not to take video game plots so seriously, even the top 1% ones are barely passable

You're not talking to "the game"
You're talking to the in-universe character of the snake.

You got filtered.
Your version wouldn't have realised the simulation.

Are you schizophrenic? How is a character in-game acting in-character somehow an equivalent to "game getting angry"?

The biggest flaw is that I don't think the game takes enough in account that the player is aware he's playing a videogame and will act accordingly.
If you tell a player not to do something that'll be the first thing he does regardless of however you dress the rest of the experience.

is there actually a cat in the game

This guy actually wanted to discuss philosophy with a computer.
>>
>>722231492
I remember the gameplay, aka the thing that matters. If I want to experience a story worth remembering I'll read a book or at least watch a good movie, why would I bother paying attention to the D-tier plot in some puzzle game?
>>
>>722231801
Milton gets angry at you with almost any answer because it is a cynical AI, as Elohim says, it's the proverbial snake

Truth is, Milton was the archivist AI for mankind's history and thus it became kind of a cynical dick. But IIRC it also became afraid when you decide to step out of the simulation because it doesn't really know what would happen.

What are some good vidya stories?
>>
>>722231294
Yes, it was made by the most dysgenic losers possible. That is why their puzzles are very simple and made for midwits to go YIPPEE DOPAMINE!
>>722231448
The first game you can completely ignore the story. The second game railroads you into watching and listening to a story that boils down to religion bad, you are dumb for holding any religious view.

I can't believe they swung it around by the tail and threw it into a wall and then the entire team took turns elbow dropping the comatose body while the director took a photo saying "this is us we did this the Talos Principle team", that was kind of fucked up.

I love this game and the philosophy is 0% of the reason why. Its a shame they leaned into the story so hard in the sequel.
>>
>>722235107
Is TWEWY that good, because it looks fucking miserable to play on an emulator. Like putting it on par with Nine Sols and LISA is a hell of a rec.
>>
>>722235172
It's miserable to play on a DS too and it only gets harder. But yeah, the original is really meant for the touch screen controls.

I'm pretty sure the AI is a nigger loving communist. The way it tries to force you into giving answers like everyone is equal and you have to take care of everyone just reeks of the Jews.

The whole point is that despite his games, cynicism and refusal to take anything on faith, in the end Milton choses to believe that there is a reality outside the simulation and hitches a ride on you.
He eventually abandons his own argument through his actions, he acts on the things he claimed he had no reason to believe in.

Explain how this is wrong without sounding like a butthurt fundie

In the era of the internet and SCIENCE I can't believe some people still hold religious views and not just for tradition's sake but as genuine faith?

Better off playing their other game, Serious Sam

Ok so science does NOT know where we come from. It does not have any answers based on physical evidence for the foundation of our world. Abiogenesis has no basis in reality and there is no physical proof for it. The reason evolution is a theory and not a law is specifically because it cannot pass the scientific method. It will not leave the hypothesis stage of the scientific method. Micro evolution is testable and results are provable. Meso and Macro evolution have no known ways to test for or against these concepts and are entirely in the realm of hypothetical "science". What the scientific community has done is use the test results for micro evolution and used it as a means to say macro evolution exists because this entirely unrelated concept (micro evolution) is slapped onto it.
Even if you take Carbon dating and state it is factual, (it isn't Carbon values change during high or low atmospheric pressure and atmospheric pressure changes daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, etc) that can only; at maximum, be measured to 50,000 years. The reason why Carbon dating is a gold standard is simple, the other methods are so more extremely insane that they want to obscure it from the layman (carbon dating is pretty insane when you actually look at what they do with it, too). Explosion dating or what scientists have termed Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry. Occurs when "scientists" put tiny explosions in a concentrated area with the sample of the rock they intend to measure and then count the molecules that kick up after the explosion.

So your people have made a new religion and have used poison to rip people from their religions. All the while, you are claiming that your beliefs aren't religious, but that they are grounded in science. Science is the observation and study of things. You cannot observe the history of humanity or the world with what we have currently. The technology is farcical.

>The reason evolution is a theory and not a law is specifically because it cannot pass the scientific method.
Gravity is a "theory", retard.
>>
>>722237929
Blame the fact that anglo "philosophy" was for a long time dominated by sassy proto-reddit reductionism (often coupled with undue obsession with language) so they were in awe when someone wrote a low effort argument against it but with a fun story attached.
>>
>>722239879
Gravity absolutely cannot pass the scientific method either we barely know why that shit works, hell I'd say we really don't know at all, we just know the more mundane effects.
>>
>>722240020
It's like saying dreams are just a theory.
Correct. We don't know why the fuck they happen. We just know they happen. Any explanation is going to just be a very flimsy theory for a very long time.
>>
>>722239534
I went for the whole hog and did all the golden door puzzles, saved mirana, saved athena, etc etc
It felt like with the way I played the game by releasing the results of the somnodrome to everyone and advocating that it's possible to expand without going rampant with it, the best ending was using the megastructure. It just felt a little to me that the arguments for not expanding relied on you thinking that if you even tried to expand, you'd 100% fuck it up and everything would go to shit and you can never escape what humanity did in the past

Talos 2 worth it?
>>
>>722233550
On the whole, nah, not really.
Generally you're looking at a sub-par B movie, where the gameplay completely contradicts what the cutscenes tell you about your character.
>>
>>722242421
Not really, the story's worse, the setting is worse, the puzzles are worse, the only thing it has going for it are some interesting new tools but they're all super underused, plus it runs worse.

Yeah, especially the DLC ("Into the Abyss"). The story can be a bit cringe but if you can look pass that, it's a neat puzzle game. The OST is also great like in the previous game. On sale, it's 100% worth it.
>>
>>722242421
Overall it's not as good but still fine.
It make you lose time in between puzzle rooms whereas the first was arcadey in that you went from one puzzle to the next in 3 seconds.
It's cheap now.
