I predict Nintendo will go back to the old design philosophy soon.

I loved the Wii U tablet so much, it doubled as a TV remote and felt so good to hold. That was the last NINTENDIVM hardware.

I'm relieved that I'm done with Nintendo and all new console buying because I'm Generation X. I don't need more powerful systems anymore to play anything I want. I win.

I'll just go the fuck outside.

They can't
That Nintendo died with Iwata

They should allow Wii U on /vr/
It's fully obsolete in a way Xbone and PS4 simply are not.
>>
>>722753604
I agree that it had good ergonomics, but everything else was dogshit, the battery, the screen resolution, the pathetic range, shitty wi-fi...
The Wii U was an irredeemable piece of shit, stop this revisionism. not even good for modding.

That board is lost. Seinfeld pics are posted more often than anything now.
And on /tv/ more video pics than ever.

yeah, I too want to discuss Breath of the Wild and Super Mario 3D World on /vr/

Nta, but the Wii U failed because Gen Xers like me thought it was a Wii accessory. I thought it was a steering wheel. See? Nintendo's marketing is run by ancient Japanese men with ties to the Yakuza. They know drug dealing, but not video games.
>>
>>722754206
>le marketing
The Wii U failed because the Wii was ultimately a trend that was pretty much dead and buried end of the seventh generation, no one cared about motion controls anymore and moved on to HDTVs. Third parties were scared away by the POS weak hardware and Nintendo was too high on their own gimmick supply

What? Everyone loved the Wii which was a smash hit. Wii Sports is one of the best family games of all-time.
But no one knew what the Wii U was except for edgy teens because Nintendo is run by ancient Japanese men.

yes... in 2006. that's my point, poor attachment rate. Everyone and their grandmothers bought a Wii and played Wii Sports, but that's was it, by 2010 the casual market moved on to their iPhones while the Wii collected dust on the back of their TV cabinet

I'm still living in 1986 [sic], normie time has little meaning to me, so 2006 is still the future as far as I'm concerned. The future looks bright.

They need to. A Switch 3 won't be successful. We need another Wii/DS moment.

Super Mario 3D World? A hero in these halls.

What we need is a Wii that is basically the bridge to what will eventually become a full fledged holodeck. Don't tell me this is impossible because even arcade games were at least attempting realistic holograms in the 80s.
Yes, it would cost at least triple to even attempt to come close to the promise, but it's either that or stagnation and finally, collapse.

*Nintendo can always pump out some cheap classic nostalgia-bait items like "here's a mini-Rob!" or whatever. You know they'd sell, so they can do that to prop themselves up during another daring experiment.
>>

Rehash the DS over and over because iwata was a hack?
>>

I used to use that feature but then the year after I had to get a new TV and the gamepad didn't support it.
Such a gimmicky piece of shit.

Nintendo closed down.

This. Wii sales were already weak by the end of its run (how often do you see picrel?). The market simply didn't want Wii 2, no matter what the name was.
Switch sold well because it wasn't Wii 3, it was more in the vein of the DS line.

Not too often since it's junk.

no wi-fi either
how ofther do you see this bad boy? the black/blue RVL-101 revision, also no gamecube ports and no stand

What the...lol I forgot that. What a joke. Your pic related is just the wrong shade of blue too. Bravo Nintendo.
>>
>>722759368
I agree it's junk, but how many people who needed Gamecube BC didn't already have a Wii by 2012/2013 when Wii Mini came out?
If the casuals were still interested in Wii it would have sold well despite the lack of BC. But casuals were checked out by this point, at least 2 years before the Wii U dropped.
