Get cheap Chinese IEMs, I spent $20 on mine. 3 years (and counting) of daily use, and they sound great, even more if you use EQ. The only maintenance you have to do is replace the filters once they get clogged, or you can just put some cotton on the place of the filters like I do.

Also, if the cable should break, it's easy to replace, given that the cable is connected to the headphones with a jack, so you don't have to crack them open and start soldering. You might need a DAC though. I use a FiiO E10K.
Best 300$ I ever paid in my life. This alongside a 40$ DAC and you can pretty much hear everything is as high quality audio as you can without having to spend thousands. I can literally hear every individual instrument and pinpoint exactly where it's coming from. Such a good headphone.

I've been using my $50 X2HR for almost 4 years now – they're still fine. Yeah, velour does attract a lot of lint, but a cheap sticky roller with multiple sheets keeps the earpads clean (though, they would never look as clean as new).Don't see a reason to replace them.

I've never had a pair of headphones actually fail due to the speakers, it's always either the pads (which can be replaced with velour ones) or the cable/jack getting damaged.

If you need help finding a good starter EQ for your headphones, go to "autoeq.app" and look up your model. You can download a preset for whichever EQ program you use and plop it in. Whole process takes maybe 10-15m altogether and then you never have to touch it again and have better sound. Enjoy, peeps.

Had these since 2022, been working ever since with daily use. The only problem is its a little more loose fitting now so it can fly off my head with too muh movement. Not sure if its related to wear and tear but the bluetooh interference I get sometimes is annoying. I'll have to reset the headphones and the bluetooth connection on my PC to get rid of the static

I don't understand how do you get any properly built headphones to break in less than 10 years other than the wire and padding which should be easily replaceable in anything you buy.AKG K271 Studio mk1s (from back when AKG was still a quality brand) are the only proper headphones I've managed to wear out (the elastic band old AKG headphones used for clamping got very loose and frayed out) and finally break but that took about a decade of extensive use and stepping on the cable which flung the headphones from head hard against the floor.
