Since the Steam Controller was a failureWhat is /v/'s go-to controller now?
>>738513701my mind
Let me guess, you NEED Xinput and Winblows
>>738513701I just beat my dick onto a modded DDR mat.
Lemme guess you "need" more?
>>738513918I need something with the left joystick in the right place, yes.
Selling out in 30 minutes is a failure?
got a gulikit tt pro and enjoying it, dpad is nice.
Basically anything other than the scheme controller is fine
>>738513701>What is /v/'s go-to controller now?Mouse and keyboard.
>>738513783Let me guess, you need this and Troonix
>snoys think that selling out all stock in minutes after launch is a failure
I have no need for a new controller but if I did I want to try this one, GuliKit ES PRO. $30 for TMR sticks in the best layout.
>>738513701>What is /v/'s go-to controller now?Dualsense with TMR mod
>>738514369>>738514030if people are buying it just to scalp..
>>738513701Let me guess: you need more.
Had a look at 8bitdo controllers, but I couldn't find any with disc d-pads, which is a dealbreaker. So my go-to for now is still Xbox controller.
>>738513701steam controller

>>738514575What's up with the buttons.

I dont like controllers and always using keyboard and mouse. Just bought a switch 2 and Nintendo switch 2 Pro Controllers. Its a comfy controller and have good battery but missing hall effect for joysticks. If I needed controller and didnt have Switch i would prob go for new PlayStation controller hence i grew up with PlayStation otherwise fuck controllers, the only games i would use it for is fighting games and I dont play those
>>738513783Just open source steam input. Then people can submit support for more controllers. Win/win
>>738513701This beauty
these threads are bad for meI already have like 5 controllers. I can't get another
>>738513701how's the pro 3? I really like my pro2 but it's starting to get really really worn from usage and all the repair I've done to itnot sure whether to get the 3 or another 2
>>738516946I'm still pissed that the Edge version of this was not sold anywhere but a shitfuck direct from Snoy platform which got botted in 5 minutes.
I have 4 8shitdon't controllers, SN30 Pro+, SN30 Pro 2 and 2 M30s. Only the M30s are worth something. The Pro + and Pro 2 have crappy soft rubber caps that can tear apart very easily, unlike the dualsense, the steam deck or whatever else you can find really. The buttons and the d-pad are just average and somewhat stiff. They're extremely input laggy on android, being practically unusable without an USB cable connected at all times. Gyro is pretty laggy on PC compared to most controllers (their dogshit gave me the impression that only the dualsense did good gyro on PC but no, it's much laggier gyro than even other chink controllers I found out). The only value these controllers had (had) was that I could set them to dinput and use the stupid ass buttons on the sides to bind something else in RetroArch and that I could change the shitty contact pads and replace them with SNES controller ones (except for the SN30 Pro 2 because they changed the face button layout just to fuck with me specifically). In any case opening the SN30 Pro 2 is dogshit because they decided to design it so that when you open it you have to release a ribbon cable as well to be able to do anything on it because of the dogshit back buttons. I feel like the controller would actually be better without those to be quite honest. Really easy to press accidentally. In any case their materials are easy cheap and if you just tighten a single screw a slight bit too much you fucked it, it's over, the plastic cracks really really easily. The M30s are only salvageable because of a mod too. Their buttons are rattly and loud and the d-pad can be pressed in the center quite a bit (and it doesn't sit flush inside so the sides feel weird). But at least they have tolerable dpads.I'm not buying 8bitdo shit again sorry
All I have is a Switch Pro Controller, has anyone tried it on PC?
the white man's choice
>>738517386I will try switch pro controller 2 on PC wirelessly, waiting for 8bitdo dongle to arrive, since i dont wanna use it with cable. You can try with cable now, just dont forget to toggle on nintendo Switch controller in steam settings, it worked for me
>>738513701>Since the Steam Controller was a failure>the Steam Controller wasn't a failureWhat did OP mean by this?
15 Dollars for 1000hz polling rate, Hall Effect sticks, Mappable Back Buttons and Dual Motor Rumble all in the proper symmetrical stick layoutIf you are paying more you must be retarded

>>738513701xbox controller, any version never failed me
>>738517291I got a sn30 pro that sees daily use for years and never had an issue. My only complaint is I cant select a diff mode on pc, it always goes to xinput on pc no matter what i do.
>>738517683Yeah, bought this to replace my DS4 and it's been wonderful so far
>>738513701>Since the Steam Controller was a failure It was? I had no idea.>>738513918Yes. I need at minimum gyro, trackpads and back buttons. Capacitive sticks and grip sense are a nice bonus.
>>738514487If the scalpers are selling their stock even double or triple the official price, I'd call that pretty succesful yeah.
>>738514575Is that just a thin flat brick? It looks like absolute hell to hold.
>>738517683I just have this nagging fear it's going to up and die on me without warning some day
>>738518019You just described an issue
>>738518360Not really cause I already had a mayflash magic-s pro so I can choose whatever I want plugging it into that. It's just one time I didnt have it.
>>738518809Oh nice so you have to buy an extra dongle to fix something that's supposed to work.
>>738517683>GameSaar
>>738518951Nah I already had it. Idk if it's even supposed to support dinput on pc or what. Pretty niche case anyway imo since the only reason I needed it on dinput was cause all my key bind in joy2key were done on a dinput controller so they were all messed up on xinput. Its probably not even an issue for 0.0001% of people my user case is special one. All I really had to do was rebind my keys in joy2key if I didnt have the dongle.

>>738513701I have the Pro 3 and it has the most usless dogshit d-pad that I've ever seen on a controller. It's sucks since it's one of the few controllers that has the dpad in a usable location. My Steam Controller should arrive next week though.
>>738513984Which is symmetrical to the face buttons, of course.
>>738514575I have one. It's pretty comfortable but mainly used for when my gf and I grab the switch 2 and go travel somewhere.
My Switch pro controller has disappointed me for almost a decade now after the wired 360 died. What's a good controller for MonHun but also with a decent dpad for 2d stuff like Silksong?
>>738513918Yes, its 2026 and I need gyro.

I really like how the new switch 2 pro controller feels
