Borderlands 2 is okay. Its writing makes me scrunch up into a nugget of pure carbon, but the characters are pretty fun to play and the gun generation can lead to interesting weapons.I guess its biggest issue is that other games have done everything it did way better since then. Also it has SO much time wasting and plot shit that doesn't matter. The amount of time you have to sit around and listen to Lilith, Roland, or Jack spout unfunny dialogue is absurd its like half the run time.Also they never fixed a bunch of the game's glaring issues and bugs despite adding content to it for many years. BL2 preferred weapons that blew their load in big shots to help get around the hp bloat enemies would get later down the line in UVHM. BL3 favored dps heavy guns instead that launchers were no where near as fun to use as they were in 2 or 1, and snipers were all over the place in terms of which were good to use and which weren't. Most weren't even worth it and some of the best were in the DLC, and those were all mostly Jakobs, because of course they were. That there also wasn't as clear cut sniper type character because 3 got rid of most if not all weapon specific class skills for characters meant anyone could use anything and not be hurt too badly by using other guns they weren't exactly suited for.

Imagine gimping your drop rates to get people to use a machine whose sole duty is to give you the same potential gear only now you have to hold onto crap you were never going to use anyway to fish for what you actually want. Or how the game fucking drags on in the beginning because the maps are too large to force players to walk in before you give them a vehicle to make it better. Or how the O2 bit is more often then not ignorable as a mechanic and the low gravity can often have loot fly off into space if a chest opens awkwardly. The gameplay can be mixed from time to time as well. I would STILL recommend Gunfire over more modern Borderlands because it's just Borderlands at its most basic. Make a character build, find weapons that support that build, and cause insane amounts of damage that let you speed through levels and bosses.
