Why would anyone side with the GDI?
Its just a capitalist scheme to control the world with lies about tiberium being bad. They just dont want you to have infinite resources and energy from crystals.

Even in Tiberium Dawn it's explained that Tiberium puts out roots that draw minerals out of the soil to concentrate them into the crystals, allowing cheap and easy (if hazardous) access to a wide range of useful materials once processed. But reading between the lines, that also means it's stripping the surface layer first and any nation that relied on it would be destroying their ecology and arable land. What's the point of a wonder mineral if you have to spend so much of your new economy on turning it back into fertilizer?

NOD, because the world was on the brink of destruction and Kane manage to convince GDI to to do nothing except building a new facility to extract liquid Tiberium and for some reason the pajeets that control GDI agreed that this is the best solution.

TD era Nod. It's just so kino, the Nod military isn't that strong yet, so they rely on high tech guerilla tactics derived from Kane's visions of the future. In the later games the tech level isn't that different between the factions. Kane's briefings also make it feel like you're let in on some hidden knowledge only the Nod high-ups know.

TD era Nod was unironically more interesting than any modern take on stateless terrorism because it was actually stateless instead of a stand-in for sandpeople, ruskies, chinks or whoever is the acceptable media target right now. ...it's a solid 5/10 I think the campaign only upgrades are neat for replayability but some of the missions can last for longer than 30 minutes and both GDF and Dynasty last for about 11 missions each. The 3rd faction isn't even playable, which feels like a missed opportunity.

>Finally drop the Alien bomb the series set up all the way back in Tiberian Sun
>Never use them again

Fuckin EA, man. If CnC4 hadn't killed the series, and not been a glorified mobile game ported to PC, we could've had something very different. The idea of a proper Scrin invasion force would've been neat. Finding out that the aliens didn't expect humanity to be so extremely aggressive and warlike but also have the tech to beat them is unusual for a Sci-Fi setting. Not that I liked the Scrin missions much, between the PACs and the fucking flying artillery that would park just outside of LoS they were pure cancer to deal with. Skirmish wasn't as bad.

I've found their introduction awesome no matter the campaign. GDI has you escaping a city being torn apart, Nod with a random ayy invasion in the midst of stealing some nukes and the Scrin's WTF moment to humanity still being alive and a viable threat is just great.
As a kid I grabbed the strategy guide when I bought the game, so I spoiled myself to the reveal. Despite that I still love it to this day.

NTA too but that's kind of what happened here, it's up to interpretation since the game just ends there. Nod does make a distinction between successful and failed tiberium lifeforms, the mutants that are naturally created by tiberium being failures. The ascension being real it could be that Nod did actually manage to create proper tiberium based life for humans.

Guntruck spamming right? I only ever dabbled in the GLA but found the blackmarkets weren't as consistent compared to the basegame. ECA has it the worst where their 5G tower spam can be buckbroken by popping the solar generator crashing the entire economy with no survivors.

>>719281308
If they had a Rise of Nations style missile shield that prevents their one major component from getting nuked it would go a long way to making them viable. They have some of the most extensive defensive systems yet none of them mean shit when you can just the flatten the lot with a handful of missiles. At least the GLA spawns a Viet Cong hole to rebuild their stuff after getting wiped. Their faction mantra should be high technology with an emphasis on core defense because everything else they have is mediocre at best.
>>
>>719281635
So the way to beat Russia is to rush and constantly put pressure on their econ so they never get to their late game units?
>>
>>719281827
Fighting eca (and to a lesser extent china) as russia lategame is torture. Nuke cannons and that giant nuclear artillery prototype eca gets hard counter russia and can obliterate entire armies in just a few hits. Your only way to deal with them is helicopters but russia's are the most expensive in the game
>>
Didnt Kane actually turn out to be right tho?
>>
>>719281878
Basically. Once russia's eco is fully set up and they have a tank army with stealth detection/anti air all over the place, it's over for you. You have to kill them before then by exploiting how slow and expensive their vehicles are. Ironically eca is the only team that can stop russia later on. GLA would just be fucked

They can't make a good mod for the life of theirs. Same with HoMM III, they also made this retarded slavjank retarded mod adding idiotic factions such as pirates. Yes, a pirate castle.

OUR LIVES FOR KANE

This is what Engineers are for, Brother.

I like the nice touch Westwood placed during one of their Red Alert 1 cutscenes. You can see Kane in the background, serving as some kind of an advisor to Stalin.
Just how old is this guy? There's this theory he's Cain, unable to die due to being Marked by God for his crime.

After Tiberian Sun/Red Alert 2 I'm pretty sure both games are in separate timelines and that's just the actor being used in a minor background role before he became the most iconic character in Command and Conquer as a whole.

I'm 99% extra material stated that both games take place in the same world.

RA1->RA2->Tiberium\C&C proper. GDI evolved from the Allies, while Nod came to be after the first Tiberium showed up and Kane utilized his connections to create a new, fanatic faction. Many of the people under Kane come from post-Soviet countries.
>>
C&C3 Kane's Wrath still has a few guys keeping the competitive scene alive somehow. Masterleaf in particular made some sweet HD graphics overhauls and keeps patching/balancing the game
I don't know if any guide exists to actually help people patch the game, I haven't actually bothered to do it myself

I think by CNC3 and RA3 the "connection" between the two was pretty thoroughly cut as none of it is ever mentioned in the codex entries in Tiberium Wars, and RA3 jumps the shark so hard they turned it into a main attraction at the circus.

What actually happens in C&C3 is kind of a cliffhanger. there's the "kane is an alien theory" which """""""""C&C4"""""""" backs up allegedly (I haven't played it). """""""C&C4""""" began life as a Chinese mobile game and EA slapped the "C&C4" title on it to try and boost sales, which of course destroyed the franchise
CHALLENGE EVERYTHING sweourp

Anon, barely anyone has played CnC4, so it's fair to say no one really knows what happened in that game. All I know is that they pulled a DoW 3 before DoW3 was even a twinkle in Relics eye.

C&C 3 was surprisingly good. I don't really understand what did they fucking think with C&C 4, turning into a fucking TRAVESTY.
It basically killed any future development. We've lost so many potential hours of SOVL KINO.
Don't think about RA 3 as canon to the world, that was EA doing their shit.
Westwood treated the games as taking place in the same world, Tiberium stuff takes place many decades later.

You mean Dawn of War 2? No base building, just capture point?
The MCVs were always funny, and leaning into them and bases being truly mobile is a really funny idea, but it needs more than the Chinese C-team to flesh out and refine the idea. RA2 had Yuri's mobile refineries, just saying.
>>
Yuri was supposed to be revealed as a NOD acolyte before Westwood closed their doors.

No I mean DoW3, DoW 2 was effectively Company of Heroes but with a 40k skin and for the most part that worked out. DoW 3 is trying to be a pseudo moba that also tried to remember it's an RTS but fails at both. You can't really rush because the super turrets will kill anything but heroes fast as fuck, and the hero units are so powerful they can make the rest of your army redundant the moment they hit the field. So most fights end up being who can get their hero/elite units out faster then pushing hard with them. It's not even a fun RTS or a moba.
>>
>>719287420
It sounds like shit how you phrased it, but I wouldn't know, I only played 1 and 2. Why wouldn't a developer just let your hero units just lead a small squad? I remember in DoW 1 you could add in a bigger guy to lead a little squad of shitters, and you could buy extra weapons for squad members.
A Warhammer-flavored MOBA could absolutely work but I have my danger sense about the monkey's paw curling...

The game was not only mechanically raped. Taking into account the ending, it feels like a conscious sabotage.
They threw out all the previous lore and Kane's motivations. Apparently, all he wanted was "to ascend" and he did so by using one of Scrin, alien gateways which teleported him to ???.
If that was supposed to wrap up the C&C events in a satisfying way then... Yeah, they went full retard. Joe Kucan also thought it dumb, but he played his role greatly, as always.
>>
I can't believe they never released a sequel to C&C3/KW
