Huh

I think the idea of being trapped in a never-ending maze is scarier than that stick figure

Literally never played anything with backrooms creepy pasta shit.
>>
Backrooms was never scary, it's just another map or location among gen alpha's childlore where they can have Skibidi Toilet Labubu and Tung Tung Tung Sahur fight BanBan
>>
>>719288819
Yeah this, the shit that gets me really terrified are stories of cavers getting stuck or people getting lost in the catacombs of Paris, its a lot more raw and hopeless than big scary monster jumpscaring you
>>
putting actual monsters in the backrooms made it gay

Can't wait for the movie desu
>>
>>719289462
What would it be about?
>>
>>719289521
Knowing hollywood, the first 95% is just a boring drama about some people who do shit nobody cares about and then the last 5 minutes of the movie is when they go to the backrooms and get lost

>Empty space of nothing where absolutely fucking nothing ever happens

Monsters make it more interesting, they make one wonder even more what the fuck is going on, otherwise the only tension would come from just being stranded, people would just die of starvation or suicide,
>>
>>719288671
'People Still Live Here' is better. Shame we have to wait until the backrooms movie is finished to get it.
>>
>>719289701
this but I'm betting on 25% drama 60% backroom shit 25% on how the backroom shit ties into the drama + some non ending where things are still fucked
>>
>>719289428
The original concept post mentioned monsters. There were always monsters in the backrooms.
>>
>>719289803
Is this the same guy who does those shitty living moon videos?
>>

It is.

The monster represents POC in America and the endless maze represents the endless bureaucracies established my white supremacy to prevent POC from progressing in America. The protagonist, Sheniqua, falls into the Backrooms and understands it for what it is. Her and the monster unite to dismantle whiteness and free POC in America.
>>
For me, it's Lost in the Hyperverse's backrooms.
It's more moody than scary, but I enjoy the focus on prolonged exploration and atmostphere. They tickle my urban exploration and surreal environments buttons at once.

believe it or not the youtube videos tell a story of of this company that finds this dimension and tries to pitch it up as infinite storage/housing space.

Then one of the hazmat suits goons gets lost while inside there and he survives long enough to learn the backrooms have some sort of time travelling properties, he got lost for a couple hours but when he made it back like 6 months had passed and the company had faked his death and weren't allowing him to leave to see his wife and kids, he went back there again and time travelled again and basically stole a shotgun and escaped the backrooms again and then the company, the official story is that company goons managed to shot him dead but at the end we see some security camera footage implying this was another corporate lie to save face and the guy managed to go underground alongside other niggas.
>>
>>719288671
Yeah, it was fairly spooky. Some of his newer stuff got kind of old for me. I feel as if it's adding too much to a simple idea. It can work sometimes but it's just not for me.
>>
Does anyone know what game they're playing? This was the very first Backroom video I saw when there were only a dozen videos on Youtube
https://youtu.be/tqIyFWYpG6Q?si=TK9TrePzSWu5zAWk
>>
>>719288671
The idea of the backrooms is what's interesting, when some zoomer adds lore to it it becomes retarded

Can't believe the guy who made those videos (which I've never seen) is now going to become a hollywood studio backed filmmaker after stealing the ideas from some rando on /x/
>>
>>719291074
well it's kinda like how a while after SCP ramped up someone went to a TV studio and pitched it and they made that TV show Warehouse 13 which is basically Diet SCP with a lime twist
it's why no one should ever, EVER share ideas openly on the internet if they think they have even the slightest bit of worth to them
all it takes is someone with a connection to steal it and then lmao ur fucked kiddo
>>
>>719289890
People who think this are genuine subhumans that can't read or understand subtext. There's not literally a booga booga boo monster you stupid moron. It's playing on the paranoia of the reader. Could there be a monster? Maybe. But you don't know and it adds to the unease the Backrooms are supposed to evoke.
>>
>>719291074
most of the stuff he did was completely original, he only "stole" the concept of the infinite yellow office space you can "no clip" into.

The original backrooms lore was just some suicide forest type of urban ex nothing burger, like some sort of no return dimension for losers to get lost into and just die of starvation, literally what everyone accuses the backrooms to be, empty rooms.
>>
>>719291315
It's not at all ambiguous in the wording though. Honestly I think you're projecting what you want onto the text and getting angry that other people don't agree with what you want it to be.
>>
>>719289521
the plot synopsis is literally out, why do people ask this?
its like the ring or the forgoten or something with the woman investigating it until she gets caught up in it

You two remind me how I almost ended a friendship over a debate over an idiotic argument about monsters in backrooms. I said they were stupid. My friend said they're cool. Instead of agreeing to disagree, we fought over it and began insulting each other, and didn't speak for a week before realizing we're both retarded autists.

I used to think this was silly until I traveled through an extensive underground system.
dunno why but I couldn't form a mental map of the area even though I never have that issue above ground or in games.

I loved the backrooms. it was this napkin idea of a concept that was only interesting for about as long as it takes to read an SCP article. Then at the point that it had worn out its welcome the internet immediately got goofy with it. Like that was the only real possible direction for it to go. You can't just keep making the same video over and over of science man running through a hallway panting (though some channels tried). So instead you portray all the science men who have been locked in the backrooms, losing their minds, forming a society and yelling at each other for breaking the queue at the big slide by the pool as they all stand single file with innertubes.

the whole thing that makes the backrooms "scary" is fear of the unknown, the expansive repeating space that could contain anything within it's beige walls.
the second you add any monster in the first 1/3 of the game/video it shatters all that and now the setting is worthless.

because he makes the most stable and gripping interpretation of it. he understands subtlety which is surprising for a young director these days. having 227149017 levels with entity number 871489752372 that rapes you but hates entity number 121746 from level 14158u7189 zone 4 is retarded and only makes sense to autistic kids. Maybe try writing a story that you know other people are going to read to understand that.

I mean "evil" in the meme sense, as in "inverted".
AM hates them and wants them to suffer forever, Caine wants to be liked by them and wants to entertain them forever.
