it's a good game and really charming. it was one of the very early examples of europeans trying to imitate japanese rpgs, and the studio was Hungarian. give it a shot, it's a fun little 20 hour romp.

yeah it's long and requires a particular type of autism to enjoy. Devs are real sweethearts though, the team is made of like 4-6 people, who reply to every steam review and give insight into their design decisions. They're currently developing a sequel

Early game martial artist has more easily accessible options iirc, but you can (and should) try out fire mage as well, it's best to have all classes leveled on all characters in general
It's hard to gauge "best" classes in the game, quite literally everything can be made not only viable, but OP to a certain degree. Of course, some things are more broken than others by the time you're in DLC lategame missions — BM Irene will be covering the entire field in fire, Sion will be doing nasty shit regardless of which class you give to him, Witches will stack infinite buffs and steal them from enemies and Alisa as Barbarian will straight up solo entire maps for you no matter the difficulty
