I can understand remaking early RE games because the tank controls, fixed perspectives, frequent loading screens, shit acting, and tons of other dated and poorly designed mechanics. Resident Evil 4? It didn't change enough to really warrant such a thing. It did change SOME things but there wasn't enough stuff to change to really warrant it. Kinda like the Dead Space remake, although 90% of the changes in the DS remake were shit changes. It's almost like general game design hasn't really progressed much in 20 years outside of visuals and a shit load of cutscenes.
