>>719315273It's fun. Like Fran Bow it's a bit easy and very short, but the atmosphere and story are interesting. The plot is more straight forward than Fran Bow's, and revolves a bit more around humor, with Misfortune being a cute-annoying awkward and annoying the voice in her head constantly, her life is depressing and you feel sorry for her though.

I wouldn't say the two characters couldn't work in the same game, but their games were stylistically kind of different.This seems to give more a vibe of being Little Misfortune 2, but Fran is a prominent character in it, which makes sense given the ending of both games I guess. I'd rather play as Fran though.

The studio semi-collapsed due to trying too much so they probably can't afford to do individual sequels.They take place in the same world so it could work if the characters meet after their respective endings. I also think they have the creative chops to give this one its own identity too.
I liked fb, but i think it could've been shorter. I preferred the schizo beginning part of the game. Granted its been years since I played it.

She either died falling down the well after escaping the asylum or right at the end when Dr Whatsisface shot her.I think both games have the sort of spiritual "life as we experience it is a part of a much bigger consciousness in the grand scheme, and death (or drugs/schizophrenia in Frans case I guess) simply lifts the veil to a much bigger world. Death doesn't really matter in these games.

Misfortune actually did make me shed a tear at the end.I mean the whole game was silly but they did do a good job of making you feel sorry for her, and the ending while not a complete surprise was icing on the cake.

It doesn't retcon Fran Bow, it's just that the ending left it ambiguous as to whether or not whatever the fuck Fran was experiencing was in her head or otherworldly.Misfortune just kind of confirmed it was real. It could have still been technically in Frans head though and she was seeing it because of the illness/drugs. The 5 worlds or whatever is based around the Buddist or Hindu states of consciousness or something. Basically while we're "alive" we're only aware of this world but when we die we just continue in the greater state of consciousness.
