Antis don’t want to admit, but Diablo IV is the best current ARPG.
>>
Weird way to spell "Grim Dawn".
>>
well it's not like there's any real competition on that front

It is, it’s just the bar for that benchmark is currently in hell.

good one

High production values to make it look pretty is all Blizzard knows these days. The game itself is kind of middling. I’d even take D3 over it

It's Last Epoch for me

AROGs have the curse of, “Diablo II is the best game of the genre.”

I don’t think that sentiment is true, but to put it more objectively, majority of ARPGs are too scared to let go of those roots.
Ironically, Diablo 4 does.

You see with games like PoE2, even though the combat is heavier, they still can’t let go of those D2 concepts.

I guess if you're a raging retard it's okay. If you can literally not keep yourself from picking multiple damage types when upgrading a character other arpg might seem worse

Diablo 4 is already EOL

>horrible animation
>same one animation of enemies falling over with no variations
>phasing through mobs
horrible taste, Ranjeet

see to me any visual downside you could point out is offset by having an ARPG that isn't grey and dull. I think it's a really good-looking game.
I played D4 at launch so another run is due, will see how it goes. With POE2, dunno if it's because I went with the shotgun class but it just 'flowed' badly, if that makes sense?
I'll take recommendations though, there's a chance this isn't Last Epoch 'clicking' for me right now, but ARPGs in general. That'd be great if true.

People recommend Torchlight 2, which I half-heartedly agree with. Most of the classes are fun to play for the most part but the game really hates melee characters. You just get shit on hard with them that the difference between them and any ranged build is night and day. There's the Warhammer 40k:Inquisitor:Martyr which is long ass name but a mostly okay arpg, same for Chaosbane which I prefer slightly over it. Decent classes and okay gameplay make it somewhat above average but it's mostly carried by being a Warhammer title. If you don't like that then it's not exactly the best. Grim Dawn, naturally, is still the one I like the most for how fluid character builds can be and how good the leveling, endgame, and loot is. I want to say Nioh, as it very much has arpg like loot systems, but your mechanical knowledge will usually trump gear quality often.

the character building is nice but the gameplay and endgame blows
