Now I know why people hate Dark Souls II. As soon as you start the game and try moving around, you will INSTANTLY know why people hate it. That 8-directional movement feels gross. It feels disgusting. It's like your left stick is covered in honey and you need extra effort to loosen it enough to move slightly to either side. It's like someone is constantly trying to impede your movement and you have to overcome their resistance to do what you want to do. Then you pick Deprived to start with an extra challenge and the game just teleports WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT some bullshit DLC pre-order weapons into your inventory, even though you are supposed to start with NOTHING. So you are left to figure out if this is a bug, because maybe you quitting and saving the game before character creation caused it. Which was also not a nice experience, because the sliders barely moved with the controller. Demon's Souls and Dark Souls did not have that problem. You need a mouse to create your character without it being extremely frustrating. But the mouse, when you change the hair or skin color has a tendency to constantly reset the bars for seemingly no reason. So it's still annoying. These are the things I am already annoyed by and it's before you fought a single enemy. The entire game's athmosphere and what the NPCs say to you, is dripped heavy in self-referentialism. I would even say it kinda breaks the fourth wall.
skill issue

didn't read but play better
>>719336368>>719337124What? I didn't even start playing the game yet!>>719336737But I will play the game! Give me more time!
>>719336265There's even deeper issues, especially the bosses being shit
keyboard chads didnt have to worry about that>Then you pick Deprived to start with an extra challenge and the game just teleports WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT some bullshit DLC pre-order weapons into your inventory, even though you are supposed to start with NOTHINGIs this something exclusive to non-sotfs? i dont remember that
>>719336265The directional controls are a matter of personal preference, lots of games have the same style of control, the Zelda games for example. The small diagonal deadzone is intended to make platforming easier by preventing small stick movements from throwing you off course. If it really bugs you that much you can mod it to work like DS1 and DS3. You can just dump the extra weapons if you don't want to use them, and the Scholar of the First Sin version doesn't have this problem anyway.
>>719336265The 8 way applies to the roll retard and it’s an objective improvement over 4 way in dark souls 1
>>719337554>You can just dump the extra weapons if you don't want to use them, and the Scholar of the First Sin version doesn't have this problem anyway. You can't dump the weapons, but you can store them, which feels less cheaty. And what problem does the SofS version not have? I am playing it right now, I don't know any other version.>>719337701I don't know! Then movement is restricted to however many degrees, but it's not fully 360-degree movement. More like 180 or 90 degree movement with every second and third degree removed or however it works. You would know EXACTLY what I am talking about, if you played the game.
>>719336265As a PC gamer I don't understand gamepad players. Why fetishize not being able to move in a straight line?
>>719337901DARK SOULS II: Scholar of the First Sin does not shove a bunch of DLC weapons in your inventory after character creation. It's strongly recommended you play that version, as it has across the board improvements and a stronger online playerbase, it's the definitive version of the game. Here's a demonstration of the game's deadzones, so you understand them:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssUIlQxxkNoHere's a mod that fixes it if you don't like it:https://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls2/mods/1200
>>719336265doesn't help that it has the most artificial difficulty possible
Based Zoomer
>>719336265>Then you pick Deprived to start with an extra challenge and the game just teleports WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT some bullshit DLC pre-order weapons into your inventory, even though you are supposed to start with NOTHING.You never started that game with nothing since release and still have the Imported set in your inventory after picking Deprived. It's fucking hilarious how you start the game as a male, fully clothed, but then slap a wicker doll against your chest and go "NO WAIT, IMMA GRRL WITH A CLUB! LEMME STRIP OFF THOSE CLOTHES!".
>>719336265Honestly it's the best dark souls.
>>719339115>easiest Dark Souls game>artificial difficultyLiterally how?
>>719336265Ok kid
>>719338975Lmao
>>719336265yeah, ds2 is aggressively mediocre
>>719337554DS1 worked the same. The remaster changed the directional thing. I think if DS2 gets a remaster it could actually be very good.
The only reason why people remember this turd fondly is because it came out when everyone was still soifacing over souls and because it had a better PC port than DS1 so for many it was their first Souls game.
>>719336265I know, it leaves the horrible first impression, but it's a good game if you stick with it. Level 20 adaptibility first thing in the game to make movement not feel like shit.
