Such a little thing...
dead space should be brought up more when people are discussing the best games of all time
There was literally no point in remaking the first game
>>719349942>>719350067DS3 tainted the flawless legacy it had. But 3 was so hated, that it technically is never brought up anyway.
>>719349727>corpo Stacey way in over her head>plays you like a fiddle but gets killed by her own arroganceWhy are sexy as fuck roasties dying unapologetic deaths so hot, brehs?
>>719350067No, but they did it anyway, and it came out better than the first game.
>>719350308kek
>>719347181If Dead Space 2 is so great then why haven't they remade it yet?
>>719350175>EA completely fuck up the series >"Okay you're not getting another game, but you can make a DLC to wrap things up">DLC leaves off on an even worse cliffhanger than before, or an implied "Then everyone died: The End" ending for the series
>>719350067Its easier to market a known entity than create a new one. Hilariously enough they ALL lack the artistic integrity of the original.
>>719350412Too pure.
>>719350067they improved the boss fights and zero gravity sections. they also balanced the weapons better, now plasma cutter and pulse rifle aren't the only useful guns. i think that alone is worth commending it but they fucked up my man hammond. made him much softer and less badass
>>719350418The DS2 Ellie ending is so good, you cannot top it. Sure, the lore isnt solved in 2, but as a ending mirroring DS1, its flawless.
>>719350616They fucked EVERYONE. Making Issac talk is the biggest crime of it all.
Dead Space is a better horror franchise than Resident Evil. I will die on this hill. Dead Space has better world building, better lore, and is generally much more scary thanks to it's science fiction setting that sets it apart from other horror media.
>>719350616The only thing that needed improvement in the original was the gun sections. Everything else is dialed in to perfection. Fuck the remake.Fuck bitch as HammondFuck lesbo KendraFuck talking IssacFuck hag NicoleThey even had the audacity to lore dump every single Marker mystery when the original fed you bread crumbsAnd the biggest crime, my man Kyne. Subtle and eerie int the original. Literal NPC quack in the remake.
>>719351071The fact that DS is the only real competitor to the mainstream horror genre dominated by RE is insane. Silent Hill isnt doing it any favors, too.
I want a broken latina gf.
>>719351341Ellie should have been the co-op partner in 3. It's such an obvious choice that they just glanced over. Instead you get stuck with Carver.
>>719351229Chronos a New Dawn is looking to be a great horror game that'll satisfy the sci-fi itch I have when it comes to horror.
Entire opening arc is kino as fk. I always loved how the initial necro chaos dies down so quickly, because Titan station is overrun in a heartbeat. The little moments are what sell it>living quarter overrun in total chaos>burning train speeding through>kindergarten totally ravaged>screaming and pleading heard from apartments>exploding traveling hub>completely train mayhem
>>719347181The remake was really excellent and while it doesn't sound like it's happening I kinda wish they'd make a Dead Space 2 remake by that same team.
I liked Callisto Protocol.
>>719352067It was alright. I enjoyed it for what it was. It certainly could have been much better though. Especially when it came to the melee combat and enemy designs.
>>719350616>pulse rifle>goodI remember that gun being complete ass when I tried it in DS1. What made it so good?
>>719351463Carver wasn't that bad, at least until the end.>>719351972I'd love to replay the multiplayer again.
>>719353010It's high ammo capacity and accuracy lets you play as a space marine. Contrary to in-game advice, Necromorphs do eventually succumb to enough body shots.
>>719351905The vibes are immaculate but really how did everyone die so quickly? You'd think the military would realise explosives are what they need quick enough.
>>719353010don't see why you'd think it was bad, was pretty decent at shredding limbs. didn't need to be too accurate since it was a machine gun
>replaying DS2>just got to ishimuraDo damage upgrades for the seeker rifle not do much? The base is about 50 damage a shot, it doesn't say how much the alt fire does, and the upgrades for both are only about 2.5 damage, I think. I like using it, but I'm wondering if it's inefficient to upgrade. I recall exploding necromorphs with it on console years ago.Does DS1 remake have DS2 guns by chance? i would be tempted to try it out if so.
>>719353010It does good damage, high rate of fire for spraying to get staggers if you get swarmed and the ammo capacity and amount of ammo per item slot is great, it can handle anything although the babies can be a pain cause it's less accurate than the cutter. The alt-fire is a joke though, can't see a time where you'd want to use it and it needs upgrades before it starts to shine. Now the flamethrower, that's a miserable piece of shit with no redeeming qualities
>>719353317pretty much any form of zombie media is bs. irl our weaponry would destroy any chance of an undead infestation that's why every apocalypse game/show/movie doesn't show how it spreads - it just starts with billions of people already dead
The opening of DS2 will live forever in my head, the whole segment on the straight jacket was a fantastic idea
>>719350308Can you mod out the woke shit?
>>719353329I recall trying to use it to destroy limbs, and it felt way less effective than the plasma cutter, and It's alt fire, while looking neat, didn't seem to do much. In fairness, I don't remember giving it much time for fair testing, and I only used it on my first playthrough, in 08. Maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance.the noob-tube alt fire in DS 2 was way more attractive.
>>719353406Upgrade the alt fire and you have a fucking nuke on your hands. The alt fire has its own separate modifier on damage, if I remember right. Very useful in combination with the force gun for the final boss.
>>719353317It's not just the necromorphs, the marker makes you hallucinate dead family members telling you to kill everyone and then yourself.
>>719353317There isn't a military, it's just a security force I think, they probably don't have much access to explosives either considering it's on a space station although the series never had much in the way of safety guidelines plus I don't know if it was in the lore at the time but 3 shows when the Marker is turned on people go insane quick
>>719353317The marker can affect a lot of people over vast distances causing outbreaks in areas all over the space station. The other issue is that there was sabotage by unitologists all over the station that was the basis of a few prequel games, and the government was prioritizing the marker/research over the safety of the station until it was just about too late. I think the biggest problem causer was the sabotage, IIRC the DS mobile game has you specifically destroy gates that are keeping the outbreaks contained.
bad story aside, did anyone else enjoy DS3.playing alone, it's an okay game, but the coop was fun.Anyone have a gif of the suicide bomber screaming and exploding at the start?
>>719354395It was ok for co-op but universal ammo and the shitty chip upgrade system instead of nodes put me off playing it solo, outside of the special co-op missions the side quests were a joke too, I think they reuse the same bunker with the exact same layout like 3 times. There's also some bizarre decisions like when they reintroduce the wheezing enemies that poison the air from the first game but they're just in a single room for no reason
what are some good deadspace like games? My buddy recommended me the RE4 remake, but are there any others? I was excited to try out Callisto protocol, but I couldn't run it well on release, so i refunded it.
>>719352067Left attackRight attackLeft attackRight attackyupp, now THIS is kino!
