Touhou games do this right.Playing on Easy straight up locks you out of getting the full ending.This is the correct way of handing it. If you don't want the full difficulty, you don't get the full experience.Imagine if say, Bloodborne, had an Easy mode that made you automatically submit to Gehrman, and locked you out of the final boss fights.

I switched E33 to easy mode to finish the game faster because the combat started getting really fucking boring. I love turn based games but I hate that every encounter was just dodge and parry for every single encounter in the game.

had my nephew/nieces over for 2 weeks last week and they were playing some of my games and at first it was on like normal difficulty and my nephew started getting all cocky talking about how easy it was (i play the game on hardest difficulty), then I turned it up on difficulty and he can't come close to handling it and then he said some other reductive shit, then I had him play an older title in the series (better game) and he found the controls too clunky and while I was gone he immediately put the other game back on at which point he played the exact same sections he had already played. All of this was very bothersome to me and put a lot of weight on my soul, I played the older versions at his age just fine
