Guys, I just met this space Gestapo officer and she almost shot me on sight and even called me the L-word. Am I playing the right game? She's pretty hot though so I might just let it all slide for now, as proof of my magnanimity.

Being Ramsus is obviously the suffering to end all sufferings, but I can't even begin to imagine the cosmos-shattering dome Miang must have given him on the reg to keep him wrapped around her finger.
I already asked this in the thread on /vrpg/, but I'd be curious if anyone wants to share their thoughts here too:If Grahf knew from the beginning that destroying Deus and freeing the Wave Existence would end the cycle of Elly’s reincarnation and the mutation into Miang… then why does he say to Fei:"You still don't understand... even after your contact with the existence? I came to understand after my contact with the Existence that, even if Deus was destroyed... as long as humans still inhabit this land, Myyah... Elehayym, will be born time and again. Then all living things may as well perish along with Deus itself. That's the only path to freedom. The path to release us from the eternal cycles of life, the tragedies of history and the spell of fate!"Like, he’s basically saying that even if Deus is destroyed, Elly and Miang will still be reborn as long as humans exist…But isn’t that exactly what stops happening once Deus is gone and the Wave Existence returns to its dimension?
>>719359521Kahr was very insecure. I don't think it would've taken much of Miang's millennia of manipulative experience to keep him on her leash.
>L wordLand dweller? Haven't played this in years.
>>719360108"Lamb"
>>719359863My understanding is that Elly and Miang will still reawaken overtime because the "Miang factor" is still present in every woman at a genetic level.
Who or what is Miang? I have only played the first 2 hours of Xenosaga in 2004 when I rented it from blockbuster

>>719360648Ah, I see.
>>719356045I do have an elly skin for X, but i haven't used it.
>>719359863All humans on the planet are parts of Deus and the interplanetary weapon system's reboot process. Only Abel survived the Eldridge's crash and we saw both Abel and Elly die in the flash back. Assuming the Gazel didn't happen to find their unmentioned child and raise it, no humans on the planet are "real". They're all part of a system meant to reconstruct Deus. Now, having said that, there's a far simpler answer to your question. While Lacan may have been able to destroy Deus, he may not have been able to free the wave Existence. That quote only mentions the former. In order to have a chance at ending the cycles of reincarnation, you'd have to at least free the Wave Existence since it is tied to Abel/Fei/Elly. As long as the Wave Existence remains trapped in the Zohar, it'll continue to work within Deus/Fei/Elly to free itself. With it free, there's some reason to believe Fei and Elly would stop reincarnating.
Terribly original idea, but man do I wish triple A companies actually experimented with weird shit like they did back in the days of the PS1 and PS2. They don't even need to be gigantic epics like Xenogears, something you can play from start to finish over a weekend like Parasite Eve would do perfectly too.
>>719360427>>719361610Thanks, my doubt was about the fact that if Lacan, when he came into contact with the Wave Existence, had known that he could stop the cycle, then it wouldn't have made sense for him/Grahf to have such a nihilistic outlook and want to destroy everything, because the solution was right in front of him. So I guess it's because the contact was incomplete and he couldn't fully understand it
Don't die just yet. Bump.
>>719356830I love how the writers got to revisit the Figaro brothers from FFVI and write a much more detailed version of them. I wish other FF games got the writing density of something like Xenogears. It's been on my mind recently and I wanna replay it (and I've been whining for my friends to give it a go). I've been thinking of playing the Perfect Works mod.
>>719359863Perhaps that's what Xenogears 2 was meant to be about, until the Spirits Within flop got it cancelled. On an unrelated note, Rasmus has such a fucking strange backstory. The shit with him crawling out of a dumpster, killing a kid and fusing with him, is weird. Would have loved to see that actually explored in the game
>>719358115Literally Ramsus's harem at the end of the game.
>>719364239Does the corrected translation make a huge difference? That seems to be the main appeal of that mod.
>>719365047I'm only a few minutes in not Perfect Works yet, so I'm unsure. Some of the name changes are strange - like Gebler into like Geburah or something. You should know that the patcher actually has a whole bunch of options you can toggle. The stuff I was interested in were the halved encounter rate, 1.5x exp and gold, corrected aspect ratio for character portraits, but also the rebalance options (separated for characters, but also for stronger enemies).I was unsure if I wanted to do the rebalanced characters/items part - because it balanced Airrods. I love killing half the bosses in the game with Elly lol, but it also makes a lot of your other party members much more usable.
>>719365292>Into Perfect WorksSorry I'm kinda rushing my posts and not fixing my auto correct
I love xenolore and all of you guys who can expound on it. It's sincerely some of my favorite.

>>719365434The Xenogears Perfect Collection PDF is well worth looking into, then. I want to buy a physical copy. I think Xenogears had one of if not the best RPG stories ever.Oh wait, Perfect Works I think it's called. Something like that.
>>719365292Oh wait where can I get this mod? Never even heard of it. I would love stronger enemies and some extra xp/gold to limit having to grind to fight them.

Are anglophone speakers genuinely unable to pronounce X as ks? Xenogears as Ksenogears instead of Zenogears?
>>719366038They, along with Cain, were the first humans to exist on the planet after Deus crashed there. They were killed during the big war in Lacan and Sophia’s time, but had their minds uploaded as data prior to that, so they were able to keep living digitally.
>>719366403I mean, obviously they can, like in "ox", but the ks pronunciation of X never happens at the beginning of words in English, I think.

>>719367676Yeah, though I've always felt a cooperative effort of Squeenix, Bamco and Nintendo could yield something one day. I legitimately think the only hiccup is the subject matter of Gears and Saga being outside of what Nintendo is comfortable with. I really wish the Blade games were willing to be as controversial as the older entries - but Nintendo is scared of any religious connotations.

the platforming in this is fucking ass. i dropped it after my first death to the robot gang because i forgot to save and cba to do the platforming puzzle to get up the cliff inside that cave again. lol. sort of felt like it was on the verge of going crazy with the sci fi plot too, but i'll probably pick it up again some day. i liked exploring the market and carnival areas in that capital city quite a bit more than i expected to at first blush. the minimaps for the cities are so cool. navigating the desert with the sand ship was really neat as well. so much going for it as far as ps1 jarpigs go.but that platforming has just got to go, it's making me want to use an emulator to skip it

They were all special because they got a relatively large chunk of Zohar's power assigned to them, which is referred to as the Animus in the game. That's why they always talk about getting their bodies back, because that power is tied to the body. When the gazel died, that power got recycled into new bodies, which during the game are Citan, Bart, Billy and Rico.
