What was your experience with Smash 4 3DS?
SMASH on the run was coolwas an interesting tournament scene for that month before the wii u release
>>719363682I remember people hacking their systems so they could use gamecube controllers for it.
>>719363563If you were in a nerdy friend group at school, it was a good time.
>>719363563I had a couple hundred hours on Smash Run.
I liked most of its content more than what the Wii U game had. Only reason I played Wii U more was more comfortable controls, but if I was up for a brief good time, I'd stick to the 3DS game. It was also significantly less of a pain in the ass to 100% complete.
>>719363563I remember before the game came out, there was a demo version you could download that only let you play as a handful of characters. Me and my brother played the fuck out of it. I remember maining Mega Man. I think my brother mained Mario. The way 3DS demos worked is that you could only launch them a limited number of times (I think 30?), but there was no restriction on playtime, so me and my brother would leave our 3DSs on 24/7 for however long it was before the full game came out. I bought the full game on the North American release date, which I've only ever done for a handful of games. In the end, I wound up having way more hours in the 3DS version than the Wii U version. I know this is probably the blackest sheep of the Smash series due to it being a handheld game, even now I really like it. In many ways I'd argue its better than the Wii U version. Better stage selection, better bonus modes. I'd say its my second favorite 3DS game behind Kid Icarus: Uprising (incidentally also a Sakurai game).
>>719363563It was the only version of smash 4 I played, I'm still sad that they never brought smash run to Ultimate
>play Smash Run for the first time>holy shit this is rad>realize I can't interact with CPUs>realize I can't play with other peopleAt least it had the better stages.
every time I lost an online match in this game I ejected my cartridge and hurled it at the wall as hard as I couldeventually it broke and stopped working and then I stopped being mad
>>719365270lol chigyu rage
>>719363774lol oh yeah, crazy what lengths people went to instead of just waiting a few weeks>>719363563Was pretty cool, I was extremely skeptical of mobile smash until I played the demo and was blown away.Unlocking all the custom special moves was a long and annoying process though. Anyone remember cheesing the Classic mode roulettes with the home menu buffer? Eventually my 3DS got stolen so I lost that save file, the next time I got my hands on a copy I said fuck it, wasn't even worth doing the first time since noone really used the custom specials anyway.
>>719365270damn dude how did you get so invested in shitty wifi matchestook me like 3 online matches against swordy tryhards to make me realize competitive smash is ghey
>tfw remembering when they gave out codes>sold several and basically got my copy for free at launch3DS was peak. Smash and Uprising provided hundreds of hours of fun.
>>719363563Still being in highschool during the sm4sh era was so kino. Racked up so many daily streetpasses too.
>>719363563fucked up my circle pad and R button
>>719365817because I have no accomplishments in my life and I've only ever cared about being good at video games
>>719365910hey zoomerworked at an airport and got so many, I forget if there was a bonus for international streetpasses but definitely filled out a decent portion of that world map
>>719365910I miss streetpass so much
>>719366158I'm a 28 yr. old zoomer
>>719366215Somewhat respectable.Senior year of high school sounds so prime for smash 4, though gotta say the parties with my college friend group drinking/smoking and playing 8 player smash were such good times
>>719363563Only the real ones know about the savagery of 3DS For Glory
