why is a game being f2p considered bad?
Brazilians.
>>719365585Hang on *faaaaaaart* oh man this is rancid*Cough* *cough*Everyone abandon this threadIt's filled with poisonous swamp juice*Cough* *cough*It's like a sulfur mineOh God
>>719365585They think that only the biggest intellectuals can afford a monthly subscription of 10 bucks or whatever (it doesnt) so they feel like poor people flooding their games brings down the overall experience.
The same reason that going on 40 soilennials will make a SOIIIIIIII face when they say an 8 bit game being played on the brick gameboy, but if they see someone playing resident evil 4 on a mobile phone all of the sudden MOBILE GAMING IS HECCING EVIL!Of course, handheld gaming isn't even handheld anymore. Switch 2 isn't even portable, you need a fucking backpack for that monstrosity. Then you have all these chink handhelds which are apparently okay, but emulating those same games on a phone is LE bad because mobile gaming is LE bad. And arcade games are LE good, even though they were designed like gacha games to manipulate people into spending as many quarters as possible by jacking up the difficulty so that is LE good but anything that's on a phone is LE bad even if it's an indie game that everyone loves. port that same indie game to a nintendo switch and all of the sudden playing that game "portably" is....LE GOOD!
Are you actually interested in an answer or are you just baiting for attention?
>>719365585Because being free doesn't mean the game doesn't need to make money, and when the lowest someone can pay is 0, the only way to make the money is to increase the theoretical maximum people can spend optionally and then designing every facet of the game to drive you towards that maximum, which almost always means making the gameplay objectively worse when you are not spending money.Companies then realizing that you can do all that and then still charge for the game at base is a separate issue, but sprouted off from that.
>>719366842its a frognigger, of course it just wants attention
>>719366842Why does it matter?
>>719365585It's like a demo. You never get the full game or complete story, it just "continues" until it stops at no particular destination.
>>719365585They usually have their own caveats for being free to play. That’ll vary and it’s on someone to decide if that’s for them or not.
>>719365585f2p suggests you're missing out by not spending money
Because you always end up paying. One way or another.
>>719368807even games like cs2?
>>719365585you are the retard at the store that fucks up everything up but then doesn't buy anything and you keep coming back every day to complain
>>719368609Warframe isn't like that though, unless waiting a few days to forge something is considered stopping. Even Warthunder keeps going, the progress just gets painfully slow.
why are redditfrog threads posted here?
>>719366842Basically any thread asking a broad question never wants an answer. Stuff like this you can just think about and reach a conclusion without the retards on /v/ shrieking in your ear.
>>719365585It's inherently not bad. The issue is that the company has to make money, which is understandable, so while making it free to play, the fuck you over with bullshit like making you wait 3 days to "level" something up or put other obvious pay gates in place to essentially force you to give them money to progress. Not all of them do that, but a lot do.
>>719371702So did you beat warframe?
It floods the game with subhumans such as cheaters because they have no reason not to.
>>719365585Tell a joke in chat on a f2p game.Everyone responds jajajaja
>>719365585F2P is to draw people in. Poors will just play slowly for free, but it entices people with money to spend on P2W mechanics.>but just have self controlWhile this is true, it's a bad model for games as it lets people without self control get ahead by being whales. It's better to just avoid F2P games and play ones that reward effort and skill.
>>719365585I'm working on the answer, but currently it will take me 10 hours to come up with it.If you buy these diamonds however i can give you the answer right away.
>>719365585>Easy access to spics, indians, and kids>Banning cheaters is pointless since they can get right back into the game within a few minutes
