Is it an open question in SH2 expert cant go on a plane to yemen analysts wether or not Maria has some amount of Mary's soul in a literal sense?

Let me rephrase.
Mary got ill around the time she and James went to Silent Hill. She died from a disease that has similar tropes to a body being separated from its soul, corruption, unexplainable blisters, withering. James felt called back to Silent Hill, where the town made him a very similar copy to Mary, so much so that Mary even had an instinctive desire to protect Laura which isn't something the town could have picked up from James.
It's not an airtight theory and is perhaps a bit less meta than
>the town is making him confront his thoughts, none of it is literal
But in terms of plot and especially the ending, it makes more sense to me that Maria is a sort of prison vessel for a part of Mary's soul that she lost at the town and is the reason she died in the first place.

I think Sanjay is trying to say:

>Is it an open question for SH2 experts whether or not Maria has some amount of Mary's soul in a literal sense? Would she be able to exist outside of Silent Hill, for instance to get on a plane to Yemen?

My interpretation is that the presence of a person's corpse (or parts of it) in Silent Hill and related areas can cause their spirit (or parts of it) to manifest within the Otherworld.
Walter's Otherworld are crawling with the ghosts of his victims, whose hearts were used to manifest this Otherworld. Walter himself also manifests as a ghost in his Otherworld. Both Walter's corpse and the carved hearts of his victims are present in the sealed off room in 302 (the hearts are in bags in the fridge, if you haven't noticed), thus they are within bounds of an area affected by the town's power (Room 302). Admittedly, this doesn't account for all the ghost victims or whatever the fuck is going on with Twin Victims, so it's not a perfect argument. But anyway.
Following the same idea for 2, Mary's corpse is in the car, so she's within bounds of the town. Her spirit greatly influences Maria and fully manifests in the Leave ending. I don't think there's anything else going on with Maria, it's pretty clear what she is.
This could also explain whatever happens in the Rebirth ending.

Mary's body/soul seems to be in the otherworld the entire time.
