Anything considered with a clear mind is inherently a rational thought. To state otherwise is just pathologizing your opposition. A recognition of the inherent void of meaning life contains does not necessitate hatred of it, although I will acknowledge that it trends to negative emotional responses upon said realization. This also doesn't mean that a person has necessarily overcome their fear of death because, as previously stated, whatever you may think on rational level, your instincts scream at mankind to stay alive at all costs, unless those costs hurt your progeny's chances of survival (and to a lesser extent, your entire in-group).
Despite what people claim, while it is possible to suppress our instincts, death is one of the few that is almost impossible to suppress, and requires either deep religious beliefs, or intense conditioning (both have drawbacks).
I can. Many people that have committed suicide have also done so. I am not one of them, however. This is due to the fact that it doesn't matter if I die, at all. Or live. Or anything.
I will concede that I live a "mediocre" life. Why wouldn't I? I have no desires for wealth, success, or for anything beyond the simple pleasures that fill my day.
So, when I wake up, and have my coffee while watching the sun crest the horizon, I take pleasure in the knowledge that my very existence frustrates you to no end.
