Its still pretty fun to play, but there isn't much reason to keep restarting it over and over until its actually done.
I go long periods of ignoring it and then downloading it again once in a blue moon. Pretty pleasant.
My last playthrough made me realize they haven't actually put much into adding new signals. Its mostly events and day-to-day chores. Its good to flesh that stuff out but put some more spooky signals that have weird information or mess with your equipment.

Honestly I think that's kind of what makes it work so well as a spooky game if you just go in blind. It doesn't throw the horror elements at you right out the gate and actually dangerous spooky shit doesn't happen for some time. Early on a lot of what you experience is just stuff meant to fuck with your head like hearing something crawling around in the vents, all the breakers in the base suddenly shutting off, or all the mannequins in your base suddenly disappearing only to be found outside one of the satellites (granted there's also the risk of running into the antibreather if you wander around near Romeo at night). The main danger you've got to worry about early on is getting thrown from your ATV and bleeding out. It actually builds up to the horror shit over time whereas most job horror games either just immediately throw the horror shit at you or just consist of maybe 5 minutes of doing your typical job shit before "AHHH MONSTERS ARE EVERYWHERE TRYING TO KILL YOU AND EVERYTHING'S COVERED IN BLOOD HORRIFYING AND SPOOKY"

It was somewhat interesting for few hours but the novelty quickly wore off after I realized most of the game is just tedium work while you wait for stuff to happen. As the other Anon said, cleaning your place was a lot more enjoyable than doing your required tasks, which says a lot.
I saw through various clips and posts some of the secrets and events the game has, which are quite cool, though I wonder how many you'd be able to experience if you went in completely blind with no outside help.

You play as some ugly twink fuck (irrelevant unless you decide to look at yourself with a camera) sent to the filthiest station on earth in the middle of fucking nowhere to process some funky space signals and send them to researchers in exchange for points (money) that can be exchanged for various goods, mostly to make your life easier or decorate the place. You quickly (or not, if you're unlucky) find out that this "middle of fucking nowhere" area is actually a god damn boiling pot of supernatural, extraterrestrial and eldritch bullshit, and you alone are caught up in the middle of it all.
It's basically an autism busywork-randomly-interrupted-by-scary-and-or-weird-shit simulator with an extensive amount of side content that is rapidly eclipsing what is supposed to be the main point of the game. It's fun if you go in completely blind and immerse yourself in the atmosphere, but you might get extremely unlucky and not have anything interesting at all happen or immediately run into some of the few game-ending events and entities and have a bad time. I'd still give it a try though, it's literally free.
Under the hood, it's a "spiritual successor" (rip-off) of Signal Simulator injected with the full unbridled autism of the developer, a russian furry omega autist (the type of person who would've become a lolcow if things had gone any differently) who really likes Vinesauce Joel and basically made the game solely so he could play it. People will mistakenly accuse the human filth that flows in the game's community of steering the game the wrong way but I have witnessed the developer's autism and I can tell you without a shadow of a fucking doubt that this man is in complete control of everything and every stupid development decision and strange addition is his.
I have no idea what Abiotic Factor is about so I can't help you there.

That's one of the most annoying thing about getting around on an ATV, especially since there's a lot of spots where they're obscured by brush. It's really irritating when you're just driving around on your ATV and suddenly get it stuck on a busted wooden fence post that was hidden in a bush. It is only like Abiotic Factor in that it was very heavily inspired by, and outright uses resources from, Half Life and Source games.
It has no real combat to speak of, just 1 boss fight, base decorating is superfluous, ect.

Probably close to about a year ago now I played into the late 20/mid 30 day's and it felt like I had nothing left to do but wait for the scripted main events to happen and build GPU miners without looking up guides for the really obscure events and burned out/got bored.

Events, specially latest ones, are too goddamn specific and cryptic to trigger at times, unless it's the story ones but by then, they kind of lost gas in comparison. The treehouse also was a mistake, it should've been hidden instead of on plain sight and not easily accessible or just removed entirely. People like the pyramid aliens much more than the futa catgirls since they feel cool and unique in comparison, not tryhard-y like having them suddenly be blasting boars with that mini-war. The build-up in comparison to the light aliens feels weak, a bit iffy even given how out of nowhere it feels like, there's not much build-up aside "ooooooo you're now forced to check your transformers ourself tough luck buddy teehee".
Nowadays, VoTV lacks subtly, shit that you know may be happening and feeding into your paranoia, the moving trees was ironically a good start point since it's subtle and at the time you can't even tell what's happening. They should've done the same with those greys instead of having one just prance around for no reason.

I dunno man, it feels like MrDrNose is just aiming more for streamer bait than the actual game and ruining the atmosphere with some cheap references scattered throughout. He should be focusing more on the creepy alien shit not just from signals.

The first couple of weeks playing it blind was magical. Not knowing how non-hostile the world actually is, and that most things that actually interact with you just pull a silly meme, had me shidding and pissing at night.
