Is this worth playing? I finished E33 and I saw people talking about how it drew inspiration from FF10 and heard good things about it but im interested. Did you play it? is it worth it
>>

Yes. Have fun.
>>
play it faggot

Why
>>
>>719399618
The game is okay, as an rpg it really is glorified rock paper scissors and the end game tactics (which is honestly a pain to get to so most understandably dont even bother) are genuinely miserable as everyone just does quick hit and all aspects of depth the battle system did have (not much) are all gone.

The voice acting is pretty strange at times since its one of the first voiced games on the ps2. The story has good moments, and also dumb as shit moments.

Even though you are playing for the first time, instill reccomend the expert sphere grid when prompted. Its more open ended stat progression to let you build characters more uniquely rather them going down a straight path.

Last FF game from SquareSoft before the merger
Last FF to use prerendered backgrounds (albeit mixed with 3D)
Last FF to use the classic turn-based combat system FF was known for at the time
Now fuck off
>>

I liked it a lot. I played it when it came out, and I think it still holds up. It's a great example of "illusion of choice" making you feel like you're making smart choices from a variety of options, but mathematically there actually aren't that many choices. You can see this in the infamous sphere grid, the combat system, and i would say even the level design. If you want to interpret that as a bad thing I can't stop you, but I really think it's a core design pillar of JRPGs and what makes FFX well received.

Whats wrong with it?

Yes.

We hate playstation
Play on pc or fuck off
>>
Its the only good FF game because it uses traditional turn based combat over FF normal gay fucking bar filling garbage.
>>
>>719399879
Bro play the fucking game or dont. Its good. Okay theres the answer to your stupid fucking thread
>>
>>719400251
>>719399873
real answer: the upgraded face rig graphics don't have as much care put into them to make the character emoting in cutscenes look as believable and fine tuned as the original PS2 release. There are some comparison images on the internet that I can't be bothered to find, maybe someone else will post them.

FFX is my favorite Final Fantasy. It's got the best turn-based combat in the series, a solid story, and a likeable cast. It's just great all around.
FFX-2 is a massive tone shift with a Charlie's Angels-style plot, and while I don't enjoy that very much, the combat is the best implementation of the ATB gauge in the series.
Both are solid games that are worth playing.
Do not hope to 100% FFX-2 in one playthrough. You will not succeed, even if you use a guide (which you shouldn't do on a first playthrough anyway).

Emulate them. An old FF is to be emulated. Never play a single Square Enix remake every single one of them was seriously fucked, i don't know what's wrong with that company.

I just looked it up and I see its a big difference yeah thanks

Get or emulate the anniversary edition. It's Japanese only but has an option for english text and dialogue
>>
>>719401090
Almost all of those remasters are being outsourced to cheap studios, that's why.

As other have said, emulate. But if you absolutely must play a remake version at the very least change the music to the original OST
>>
>>719399618
X-2 combat theme sucks ass therefore it is unplayable.

>how it drew inspiration from FF10

?
>>
FF7, FF8 and FF10 are the only good FF games, just play them.
>>
>>719399618
It may have inspired E33 but if you're searching for an rpg better than it you better look elsewhere. You aren't going to find one in this normalfag series

that feature was also included in the boxart of the game, so it's weird the remaster completely ruined it
>>
pretty sure the director/producer and ben starr are fans of FF8

I volunteer to remain as the last fan of FFX-2. Leave and live, brothers.

It's funny how retards criticize nu-Persona here for being a rock-paper-scissor simulator when FFX is literally like this and get a pass.
