can you beat this when your IQ is only 119?
>>
>>719399625
I beat it and I'm fucking retarded. So probably, yeah.
>>
Sure, but eventually you'll just start getting annoyed when the game starts expecting you to know about collision glitches and stuff and just get bored
>>
This game is literally impossible.
>>
>>719399665
I think anyone can beat it. It doesn't require you to think up anything particularly complex.
>>
>>719399665

pretty much this. the game ends up being annoying and tedious

prefrontal lobe I guess. but in the late game it’s not humanly possible to do that much logical retrospection and you just have to keep trying until you brute force your way through. this is why this game sucks

have you tried not being stupid
the 'lategame' is unironically much easier to think up solutions than the middlegameish portion in fact, but you probably didnt play it that far

I think it's beatable for most people over 100 IQ if they're willing to put the time into it. Patience is rewarded by this game. The thing is, a lot of people don't have that patience for puzzle games.
It gets some undeserved flak because the way outlets always talk about this game to promote it actually fails to understand its design at a fundamental level. They always say "you can make yourself the walls, or make the flag you, etc" like it's a sandbox platformer or something. But from the ground up it was always designed to be pretty precise problems and solutions.
I do think Baba Is You is among the best games ever made, you might be able to call it a perfect game.
I've been trying to start a bit of The New Adventures lately, but Flag Is 3D keeps crashing my steam deck.

>>
After getting all the achievements, I broke down and looked up how to make Meta - Booby Trap into FLAG + TEXT so I could play the cursor level Whoa.
The frustrating thing is that it turns out it's not even an absurd ridiculous sequence you need to do to make this happen, it's actually relatively elegant.

Is there a commonly agreed-upon hardest level in the game?
Not counting filters in the first world like the one where push Wall Is Stop over an entity and make it You to walk forward and break the sentence
>>
I needed roughly 10 hints or so across everything, mostly for when I first ran into mechanics I didn't think would be possible (overlapping text, x is shift and shift moving something twice per turn), and getting started with that one endgame area where you had to turn levels into different things to even progress.
>>

Booby Trap for introducing the entire concept of layered puzzles in Meta
>>
>>719401863
I think
>Level Near Flag Is Win
blows a lot of people's minds.
The Return of Scenic Pond seems like the dev-intended hardest level since it's the final numbering of Meta.

Blue Prince is weird because there's a bell curve. After a certain point, progression indicates a lower IQ because a higher IQ realizes it is a waste of time and they stop playing.

Good because that's exactly what I did after doing the sigils and 8 realms in 8 months. Things were getting too obtuse for too little payoff. In retrospect I wish I could get back the time I wasted getting the vault key for the last sigil room.

The New Adventures really deserves to be more obvious official extra content. As it is, it's stashed away in the "play levels" menu I think and is treated like a pre installed fan pack.

this is the only level i recall that actually outright filtered me and i had to search up
>>
>>719403597
Yeah this is a level you can just spend hours staring at. Doesn't help that every time I solve it the solutions gets totally deleted from my brain afterwards so I'm staring at it like a deer in headlights again now.
>>
>>719399665
I'm only remember one level reliant on the collision "glitch" and I'm pretty sure it's an optional one
>>
>>719399625
Yeah, assuming you have the patience.
>>
By collision "glitch" are people referring to overlapping pieces of text by having them be SHIFTed to the same tile on the same turn?
It's perhaps the hardest logical jump in the game, but on the other hand you gotta wonder what else could happen if you did that, so it seems worth it to experiment it if you're not sure.
>>
My biggest issue with the game is that after taking a long break from it, you forget all the "invisible" rules you were supposed to remember and all the previous strategies you've used that the next levels build off of. Only solution would be to replay it, but redoing puzzles isn't that fun even if you forgot the solution.

>The top documented way still uses Float instead of my solution of using the Float's water tile to make a Keke, getting BABAKEKE text, and putting both a Baba and Keke on the wall tile so one can push the FLAG word down and the other to the right
>>
>>719404481
I dunno. The thing i'm enjoying the most about baba is that it's consistent. Shit like how stop doesn't allow things to move into them, but not the inverse, or how words overlapping make more statements. It feels logical once you think about it.

Yeah, it's possible and if shit gets too difficult you can always look up hints via that baba is hint site. It doesn't outright tell you the answer but just nudges you towards it. Haven't looked up an actual solution to any level yet beyond hints, but I've probably used that hint site around 10 times.

I'm still going through it actually, 32~ hours in and only reached world 8. The only one I skipped was Out of Sea in World 7 because I heard it was the hardest level in the game and is better tackled at the end when you understand the game more. It's been a very fun experience even if it sometimes takes hours and reminds me why I like puzzle games a lot. Glad I saw /v/ talk about it years back and made me interested in it since outside of this site I've never really heard it talked about.

Currently on Entropy and it's annoying me because I've nearly figured it out but can't figure out the last step of having a Rock and Baba exist at the same time so it'll probably take hours of trial and error before I get it.

>>719402412
Pretty much, probably around 20-30 levels I figured out through exhausting every combination and getting lucky with the current one which solved the level.

>>719406410
This one took me hours so I don't blame you, I basically tried a solution that was literally the opposite of what you're meant to do for this. My mind just completely blanked out that there are four wall tiles I can use and when I finally decided that maybe they're useful I instantly got it.

>>
>>719421876
As someone who's played most on those list, I think Lorelei is a 100 IQ game, maybe 110 being generous. The reason is the design is deceptive. VERY frequently, the answer to a seemingly inscrutable puzzle is "hidden" very plainly in a text you can pick up later. In other words, you outright cannot solve the puzzle when you first find it, because the solution doesn't require clever lateral thinking, it just requires new information. As long as you follow the guideline of
>if you can't solve it confidently right now, walk away and come back later when something makes you think of it
then it shouldn't be too tough.
