>video games that only you played and enjoyed
I had fun
>>
>>
>>719413780
two different games
>>
>>719413351
It actually looks fun.
But not 80 dollars fun.
So into the trash it goes.
>>
>>719414275
How can you be so sure?
>>
>>719413351
I really enjoyed it actually, not amazing but the gameplay was head and shoulders above anything Bethesda has ever done. Doesn't deserve the hate
>>719413780
Not once in either game have I tried to fight toast
>>
>>719414372
played them both, I am qualified to compare them both
>>
>>
It is a good game. It is probably for the better the game isn't discussed here in this shithole.
>>
>>719416723
Applies to most things on /v/ 2bh. This place isn't somewhere where you actually want to discuss games, especially ones you enjoy.
>>
>>
>>719414372
nta but if you consider Avowed a PoE in fpp then it's perfectly fine. You couldn't interact with anything in PoE either.
>>
>>719417006
Yeah Avowed always felt more Mass Effect to me than TES. You can’t go around shooting everyone in the face on the citadel and moving stuff around and Avowed is the same. It just gets compared to TES because they’re both fantasy.
>>
>>719416723
Because it's 80 goddamned dollars
>>
>>719416906
Honestly a good game that captured the feel of Star Wars. People just hated on instantly cause they didn’t want to fuck the character.

I'll play it after they fix the stupid stuttering performance issues and maybe release DLC's
>>
>>719417796
that is indeed half a year worth of wages for most people on this site.
>>
>>719413351
I've had it installed forever. Which class/build or whatever is likely to be the most fun?
>>
>>719413351
The Ultima 5 and 6 mods for Dungeon Seige were really well made
>>
>>719417939
Pure wizard is the most fun. The spells are good and it feels fluid. You can also try a gunslinger mage too which I enjoyed too. Melee is alright but avoid the bow. Just feels slow
>>
>>719417893
anon, nobody but a moron is spending 80 dollars when they can get a better game for 50 dollars or less.
>>
>>719417939
mage, as always. melee and bow/guns plays the same
>warcry for stamina damage bonus
>do big stamina damage(which opens enemy to a critical strike)
rinse and repeat
>>
I really want a pillars 3 bros. Fuck you Avowed
>>
>>719416906
>>719417804
>Outlaws
>Can't be an Outlaw
>>
>>719418224
I'm overall disappointed in Avowed, but I see Avowed as a way to try to keep people interested in the PIllars setting in the meantime while trying to get enough acceptance from top brass about doing another CRPG.
The success of BG3 probably made it more likely that a Pillars 3 can happen, and they already announced that they're adding a Turn-based mode to Pillars 1 with a later patch.

It all feels like tryign to set up an eventual 3.
>>
>>719417804
why would i want to roleplay as an ugly mutt female
>>
>>719418625
Yeah I think that it was a good way to bring some energy back to the world of Eora and with them bringing turn based to POE1 which is probably for gamepass stuff for console letting them play the series in its entirety.
>>
>>719418997
Also a good way for them to experiment with making turn-based feel good without committing/funding for a new game yet, since PoE2 turn-based feels a bit off honestly.

PoE3 will likely have turn-based as an option right from the start.
>>
>>719418625
>adding a Turn-based mode to Pillars 1 with a later patch
Didn't they already do that? Or was that in the second game?
>>
>>719419559
Deadfire has TB already and POE1 is getting it by the end of the year
>>
>>719417804
It was comfy.
>>
>>719418134
>>719418209
Thank you
>>
>>719417743
BG3 or Elden Ring are fantasy too, yet they never get compared to Avowed to such an extent as Oblivion. It's because years ago Obsidian tried to market it as Skyrim killer, which they then retracted, but it stuck with people. Obisiad in general is viewed as the cooler Bethesda, which is fucking laughable, considering the only good Bethesda-like game they ever made was New Vegas 16 years ago.
>>
>>719416831
There's nothing faker, gayer, more retarded and pathetic than depending on parasocial approval on an anonymous nigerian mudbrick architecture board. If you want to discuss a game, then do it. If your enjoyment of a game can be retroactively wiped out by strangers, you're a performative gaymer whose mind is still stuck middle school.

Thin-skinned bitches lacking spine and conviction are the very reason this board has become a paradise for actual corporate shills.
>>
>>719420514
Wow, you sure showed him by...throwing petty insults and saying you're le tough, yet you didn't discuss any games and how you had fun with them. hmmmmm. wonder why's that.
>>
>>719420514
All that vidja discussion. I wonder why talking about games instead of the latest twitter drama is impossible here.

Same, even though I enjoyed Avowed and the lore impact it has on the future of the series. I wouldn't mind an Avowed 2 but a PoE3 is needed first.
>>
>>719413351
it was okay for one walkthrough, but suffered from same writing problems as every single obsidian game since planescape
You can't pick choices based on your own values, only the ones that writers believe in.
For example I was totally okay with burning city, but then captain bitch started screaming about how she can execute emperor and get away with it, I simple picked option to kill her on the spot. Game afterwards for treated it as revenge for city, so same shit as motb and kotor2
>>
>>719413351
A blast even. You could even say it was a return to form.
>>
I want to put my thumb in Gianna's butthole as she uses animancy to keep my cock hard and thrusting in her as I feel her strong Italian muscles nearly break my thumb when she cums
>>
I haven't played any PoE but it seems like Avowed benefited a lot from having a decently compelling world to be set in rather than starting from scratch like Outer Worlds. The fact that Outer Worlds even got a sequel is very perplexing to me

It's hilarious how this is supposed to be the big anti-Avowed meme. Imagine not only being so autistic you rate games on whether or not you can stab bread, but actually holding up Bethesda's famously shitty physics engine as something to strive for. If you're going to spam the same image in every thread, at least make it something actually retarded like BG3's bear sex image.
>>
>>719421516
If you enjoyed Avowed you should check out Pillars. The worldbuilding is great in those games.
>>
>>719421167
Yeah, that’s been a consistent gripe with Obsidian’s style-“choice” is often just flavor text for the same moral conclusion. They give you a toolbox of responses, but most lead to the same ideological endpoint. It’s that whole “you can be angry, snarky, or resigned-but you’ll still agree eventually” writing. MotB did it too, like you said. Someone always has to scream at you about how their pain is now your fault, no matter what you did. Would be nice to have a cold, pragmatic option that doesn’t get treated like kicking a puppy.
>>
>>719421718
>being even worse than Bethesda is a good thing actually
Anything for that minimum wage huh.
>>
>>719421729
I definitely will, I actually read most of the lore books I picked up in Avowed and enjoyed for the most part
>>
Being a diplomat is a really good backdrop for a Bethesda style choices matter game, I wish some of the decisions they railroad you towards in the end were less retarded
>>
>>719414646
Repetitive but I did have some fun with it. Solid gunplay and way better than the first one at any rate.

>>719416906
Actually a good game. Not as good as EA's Jedi games, but still very solid and captured the feel of that world well.

Everyone seethe about completion requirements or redesign, but I think it's the best of the franchise
>>
>>719421936
Based. Enjoy them and if you like reading there is lots of it in Pillars. Ignore any NPC with gold names as those are just kickstarter backers that greeted their donut steel stories and can be ignored.
>>
>>719413351
I tried to enjoy this through goypass, but I couldn't get over the bisexual art style. It's literally impossible to make a badass looking character in this game.
>>
>>719421626
I wanted to buy this but apparently they fucked up the framerate for the SeX in the last update and they won't fix shit because nobody plays it.

A shame really it looks incredibly fun to autisticly learn the tracks and improve your times
>>
>>719422079
It's a game that I played more out of frustration than enjoyment. I think it has some great levels and solid mechanics but overall it was trying way too hard to be LE DARK SOULS OF PLATFORMERS.
>>
>>719422020
That's kinda Daggerfall's premise. You're directly working for the king.
>>
>>719413351
I believe people enjoyed every other game posted itt, but not this. This game is fucking tranny garbage. Easily as bad as Veilguard.
>>
>>719422146
I typically install the IE mod (without all the extra stuff) to disable the ability to click on Backer characters, and turnign their names into generic descriptors
No issues with the backers themselves, but it's super distracting to the actual game.
>>
>>719422272
no, it's not as bad as non-binary veilguard
>>
>>719413351
Updated artstyle is fine and good looking
>>
>>719422287
I do the same. It’s annoying as well as all the backers seek to mostly be godlikes as well which are rare.
>>
>>719422272
You didn't play it

Veilguard is way, way worse especially in the writing department
>>
>>719413351
i was playing it and enjoying it well enough, pretty much 100% the first area and was ready to move on to whatever adventure was ahead... but i didn't play it for a single day and completely forgot i was even playing it until seeing this post. that was like 3 days ago.
it has some of the best feeling first person combat for a fantasy RPG (i don't like skyrim for example), it looks a lot better in person than in videos (bitrate/compression is very unkind to it), it's just an all around "ok" time.
but everything is entirely forgettable and kind of... there. every time the dialogue went towards complicated political intrigue, or my companions were trying to talk about their feelings, i immediately picked the "uhh, well whatever i'm just going to carry on with my quest" murder hobo option - because its all so flat and lifeless i can't bring myself to care.

since its FREE on gamepass if you really love action / first person RPGs its worth a try. i had negative hype because it looked fucking terrible in videos, but its really just decent yet forgettable. however Tainted Grail exists now, i would recommend that more as an actually interesting attempt at beating Bethesda with a modest budget, and mostly succeeding.
>>
I really like how much your companions chat with each other, especially around the fire

I dont have the most patience for cRPGs so I only play 1 like every year or 2 and I know its more common but this is the first RPG in a while where I actually had to really stop and think about the choices I made. Especially the end of act choices.

Not only that but the payoff in the last few hours felt amazing, not just a shitty slideshow showing what your choices did (although they have that too at the end)
>>
>>719423345
The one with the temple in the desert area really made me stop and think for a while too. Especially when the villain makes the most compelling argument which was good. I also didn’t realise that the way you speak to Sapadal throughout the game reflects her attitude and dialogue as it goes. If you’re forgiving and kind, so does she but if you’re rude and brutal then she adopts that attitude too and it unlocks a secret ending.
>>
>>719418134
2H fighter + some magic in the late game was the most fun for me
being a close ranged build means you are always in the heat of things and you constantly have to manage your stamina

Fair point
however the last good Bethesda-like game Bethesda made was like 24 years ago

Avowed is actually pretty okay, the gameplay itself is fun and exploring is rewarding. The enviroments are cool too.
Didn't really enjoy the story or any of the companions though. There was barely any enemy variety and you ended up approaching every fight the same way anyways, at least as frost mage. Also there were no physics, everything felt like it was made out of plastic.
6/10 expected a better game but had a good time.
Pic related is mine, I am usually not into survival games but it was simple enough and I played it for the story anyways. Had a great time.
>>
>>719413351
I wanted to like avowed but I found the companions too annoying
>>
I dropped it when I got to the first main boss and it was just a bear with more HP than the other bears. They couldn't even be bothered to give bosses unique designs.
>>
>>719421718
>It's hilarious how this is supposed to be the big anti-Avowed meme. Imagine not only being so autistic you rate games on whether or not you can stab bread
But what do they eat though?
>>
>>719413780
Nobody cares about this early 00s mindset "Everything should be like in real life", anon, even bethesda would rig it if they could, and only a few youtube autists would be disappointed
