>fantasy world>hundreds of years pass>it's still medieval times
>>719416767>worlds that are generally stable don't see the need to change>every story you see about these worlds are specifically when the world becomes unstable
>>719416767>250 years pass>guns, dei and trannies inventedgw2 was visionary
>The ancient civilization that disappeared thousands of years ago actually had super advanced technology
>>719416767Medieval times lasted from 650AD to 1453AD in real life
>>719416767>incredibly dangerous medieval fantasy world where humans have to fight just to not go extinct from the various other races and monsters>they have LGBT woke politics>gay people who don't breed in a world where humans need to keep their numbers up are not seen as even remotely odd
>>719417043Realistically, humans would not have made it anyway to even try and fight.
>>719416767african shitholes look the same since 10000 bc
>>719417283 Exactly. If trolls the size of trees, dragons roaming the skies, and necromancers raising armies were daily threats, humans wouldn’t be organizing councils-they’d be hiding in holes hoping to make it to the next sunrise. At best, you'd end up with isolated fortified enclaves, not kingdoms with 900 years of political stability and flourishing economies.
>>719416767>dark fantasy world>hundreds of years pass>you have primitive steam engines, cannons, pike and shot tactics
>>719417043because those humans are not real humans, they're mimics
The issue with these settings is that technology never improves. Instead what happens is that heroes just rediscover or reverse engineer ancient artifacts.Meanwhile in WW2 alone we went from bolt action rifles like the M1 garand to the grandfather of the modern assault rifle, the stg44. If we take medieval times, knights went from chainmail and nasal helms to fully articulate suits of steel plate in just 400 years.
>>719419952why improve technology when you can use magic or ancient artifacts to make your life easier?
>>719417010t. only knows history from Crusader Kings Might as well have said "from the Charlemagne dlc until EUIV starts"
>>719420056Because often the case is that wizards want magic for themselves, not the common man. We never see wizards and sorcerors try to improve the quality of life in these settings anyway. Even just solving mundane shit like levitating rickshaws or carts to make transfer of heavy loads easier for transporters.
>>719417007The kingdom of shibuya
>>719416767>1100 AD>hundreds of years pass>it's still medieval times
>>719416767the real life middle ages lasted 1000 years dumbass. Obviously for there to be no differences in the world at all 500 years later is retarded but technological change was generally very slow in the pre-modern era so it’s not all that unrealistic for the world to remain pretty recognizable a couple centuries in the future, aside from political borders and such. The life of an average peasant in 1200 wouldn’t have been that different from 1000
>>719416767there would be no reason to invent stuff if magic exists
>>719420992In terms of warfare it would still be pretty significant at least. Tactics would also change a lot. New weapons and strategies would frequently appear. Like it doesn't make sense for warring nations to have the same looking soldiers and weapons for centuries. Military reforms constantly happen as response to victories and defeats.
>NOOOOOOOOO WHY DON'T YOU JUST ADVAMCE WHEN YOU HAVE MAGIC AND POWER SYSTEMS AND REAL GODS THAT TAKE THE PLACE OF TECHNOLOGY! LOOK AT HOW FAST WE ADVAMCED! WE DEFFINETLY DID NOT HAVE A EXPONENTIAL EXPLOSION IN TECH CONSENCED TO RECENT HISTORY!!!Why is this concept so hard for soience retards to understand?
>>719416767>ancient Rome>1000 years pass>still ancient RomeWho writes this shit?
>>719422015The roman republic, roman empire, late western rome, and the byzantine empire was near indistiguishable.
>>719416767>real world >fast forward hundreds of years >it's still antiquity
>>7194201201453 is because that's when Constantinople fell. Idk why he started with 650 though
>>719421723Also >90% of the existence of our species was spent in the stone age.Technological advancement from one generation to the next is a relatively new phenomenon for us.
>>719416767>real world>medieval times lasted literally 1200 years
>>719422108you triggered me, well done
>>719416767the middle ages lasted 1000 years, anon
>>719417906>>719417283You fools underestimate humans. Now intelligent dragons and gods are one thing, but dumb trolls are another. Humans made every single large predator go extinct before history could even start. Europe used to have hippos. Mammoths were pretty much fat thundra cows to our primitive ancestors.Even the dumbest isekais either have magic to compensate or large monsters are rare or only found in frontier areas.Realistically any monster either dumber than humans or unable to form groups would be no challenge to a well-organized human force
>>719416767Realistically speaking there's only like 2 eras of civilization. Before Modern and Modernity. All the eras of history were made up by history autists obessed with categorizing time, place and people.

>>719416767In hundreds of years, Earth will be medieval too. And this time without easily accessible resources needed for industrial revolution.
