Anons, can we be serious for one moment and talk about how Kratos VS Asura is the best video DB has ever made? Even if you ignore the animation and analysis (even though they're top notch), the storytelling alone puts it LEAGUES above everything else on the channel.It's a beautiful story about how rage and vengeance can ultimately destroy us all. We see in the beginning Asura instigates the fight, his actions motivated by no other reason but irrational anger. Kratos immediately recognizes that this challenger is no match for his limitless strength. He wants to deescalate the situation and tries to dissuade Asura from making the worst mistake of his life. But Asura cannot be reasoned with, and thus he strikes anyway. Even though he'd be more than justified, Kratos refrains from killing Asura on the spot. He holds back, still vainly hoping that this conflict can be resolved bloodlessly.Kratos even attempts to find common ground with his opponent to make him listen to reason. In Asura, Kratos sees himself before he became a better man and was still driven by rage. Asura, petulant and unmoved, refuses to back down. Kratos respectfully abides by Asura's request to "shut up" and resumes the fight wordlessly.He delivers what he hopes is a debilitating, non-lethal blow that will hopefully leave Asura subdued long enough so he can reflect on a lifetime spent being dominated by anger. But instead, Asura transforms into his Destructor form and Kratos realizes that he must put a stop to the fight before Asura inadvertently kills any innocents in his rage.Even after all of this, Kratos still respects Asura enough to give him a "worthy end" and he finally frees him from the wrath that has been controlling him, making him a monster no longer. It's so beautiful. I watch it every day and I still tear up every time I reach the end.Can't we all just learn from Kratos's example and stop these petty arguments and insults? It's not too late to become better men.

I know a lot of people had problems with it, but I thought it was great.Even if you disagree about Asura losing, given the power gap between the two it makes sense for Kratos to take little damage. It also put Kratos in some kind of a mentor or elder role to Asura, and let Kratos show how far he had come by defeating someone who had been down the same path as him. He wasn't just fighting Asura, he was TEACHING Asura. And I think that's very heartwarming in a way. That Kratos would take the lessons he learned and help someone who was just like him.If this weren't a Death Battle I'm sure they would have ended cordially and taught each other well. The alternate ending is weird, even if heartwarming in its own way. It was nice to see Kratos reunite with his daughter, but it feels weird to have him just stand there and take that punch.I haven't played Asura's game though (but after watching this fight I think I might watch a playthrough!) so I might be missing stuff but as a big GoW fan I thought they did Kratos justice and from what I saw they treated Asura with the utmost respect. What character has ever gotten an alternate ending made just for them?

No one will ever replicate what KINGtos did. He was literally an unstoppable force and immovable object. He was pure, absolute strength. Every technique, every trick and gimmick, every asspull, he was unfazed by. A full force attack by Wrathful Deity Asura was easily repelled. Attacked by Six Armed Vajra Asura? Who cares, he's like, stronger than mantra. Asura finally asspulls his Destructor form, and it does fucking nothing against a barely-even-trying Kratos. Unlocking new power doesn't help, fighting smart doesn't help, he facetanks beams, he beats people up by just looking at them. They unlock new powers, they team up to fight him together, it doesn't fucking matter. Nothing they do can reach his might. No Death Battle character has ever felt this far above what the other combatant could muster. He was truly the better man.
