more developers SHOULD turn more of the community mods into DLC or just direct updates to their game.
The problem is that Rimworld:
0. Refuses to update the baseline game with the most trivial shit that a DLC introduces (ex: item types) or that the most popular mods provide as quality of life features.
1. Doesn't expressly congratulate the modder for supporting the software with their mod, especially updating the mod constantly, or even just creating the mod that was so popular it had to be put into an official DLC
2. Often downgrades or re-scopes the amount of features the original mod had, and sometimes misses the mark on what made the original mod so enjoyable
3. Charges an incredible amount of money for what is basically a copy/paste job and then basically never reduces the price enough to justify actually buying it
4. Probably doesn't pay the modders anything, even if the code was literally 1:1 copied from the original mod (bugs/errors/typos included)
