How likely would I be to enjoy this if I have no idea what Metroidvania means and 90% of my video game experience comes from playing The Sims 2 20 years ago
>>719432964I’d recommend starting with Castlevania Symphony of The Night instead.
it's normie as fuck and baby's first metroidvania. anyone who has played the genre before this would be bored of how trite and unoriginal the abilities are
>>719432964It's a lot of people's first metroidvania so that's no problem, but it might be too hard for you if that's really the only game you've ever playedOn the plus side, it's dirt cheap and goes on sale all the time so there's no harm in trying it out. I got it on sale for 3-4 dollars years ago
>>719432964Good game, just not the absolute magnum opus everyone claims it to be. Maybe Silksong will be that one, we'll see
>>719432964That is literally impossible to know.
>>719432964I like Metroidvanias, and hated Bore Knight.
>>719432964only faggots cry about it so they're going to come here and tell you its the worst thing since trump ended trans affirmative care in the military
>>719432964It depends on you. It wasn't for me, but that's because I could never remember what obstacles that I had to come back for were inaccessible for what reasons or required which kinds of powers, and the backtracking to double check became too much to be worth it, but I also have a goldfish memory.
I liked axiom verge more
>>719432964the combat is really polished and balanced, though apparently some casuals struggle with the bosses.the biggest issue in the game is the labyrinthine layout. all i can say is, be prepared to commit 30+ hrs to beat it and do NOT take a break or you will forget everything and have to start over. as a big metroidvania fan I can definitively say its one of the greats
