Horror Inc. has confirmed that a sequel to 2017's Friday the 13th video game is currently in development. This announcement follows months of ongoing rumors about the Friday the 13th franchise receiving another game adaptation.

In 2024, Horror Inc., the owner of the Friday the 13th IP, announced its plans to expand the highly popular slasher franchise through different forms of media, including games. Under the Jason Universe banner, the company revealed working with the original Friday the 13th film's screenwriter, Victor Miller, to bring multiple projects to life. In May 2025, a recent licensing agreement suggested that a new Friday the 13th game might be in the plans. The rumors have now officially been confirmed by the creator of Jason Universe.
The announcement of a new Jason Voorhees game should come as a relief to fans of Friday the 13th: The Game, which has gradually been ditched by its devs over the past couple of years. At the end of 2023, the survival horror game was delisted from stores, making the game inaccessible for potential buyers. As the succeeding year also wrapped up, the online server support for Friday the 13th: The Game was discontinued, forcing players who still owned a copy to play offline with bots. Given that there is little to no information about the sequel yet, it seems fair to assume that its release may still be a long time away. However, the project's confirmation alone provides something to look forward to for fans of the first game.

>In 2024, Horror Inc., the owner of the Friday the 13th IP
And they're sure about that?

This Jason Universe shit is the most souless corporate slop I've ever seen. Going off your paragraph, I don't see anything about the Friday the 13th: The Game developers working on the next installment. Players should not want them to work on it either. They were given the go ahead to continue working on the game even after the rights dispute and they said nah and stopped supporting the game. They're shady.

They better add community servers or it's fucking over. The first one was a waste of money.

Nice, might get that Jason X after all
Course we could also get an jankier mess than the last one, now on UE5.

Not a single product that has been associated with the "Jason Universe" sounds in any way good, and this game will almost certainly be more DBD slop made by one of the three studios that constantly crank that trash out. Fuck off.

Nobody actually wants a new F13 game, we just want Gun Media to give up on their shitty Texas Chainsaw game and revive F13. F13 The Game is already peak.

They already gave up on Texas Chainsaw Massacre and they are making a Halloween game now. Same slop, different license.

One of the few good scenes in that dumpster movie. A shame they didn't just film in a city close to Manhattan instead.

The game was pretty fun anon. Running away from Jason with your buddies and then coming back as Jarvies was always a treat

Yeah, the game was fun, but it literally got worse over time and this publisher is one of the worst out there. They just do the same shit over and over again.
>Make a DBD clone based on an existing horror license
>Ignore it until it falls apart
>Make another one in the meantime

Even with F13th, the lawsuit story was bullshit. Miller said, outright, that the lawsuit had nothing to do with their continued support of the game. They dropped it because they wanted to move on, and they have done the same shit twice since then.
