I played it about 30h before realizing that you're doing the same thing over and over again, no activity has all that much depth, and the activities you do in the main quest aren't all that more interesting than just randomly flying into any direction. It's a nice lightweight game to turn your brain off with, but it lacks that substance or oopmh that creates a true addiction.

NMS lets you build prefabricated things and connect them together with hallways, but those prefabricated things have no interacting systems, much less interacting systems with the larger game world. There is no equivalent to redstone and switches, or even just fire and flammable materials, for example.NMS is ultimately a much more dead universe than MC, even if superficially they both share similarities.

You can get exploration in any game. Terraria has exploration, but seeing stuff isn't interesting without challenges like bosses/fights/conflict.
