>>719437212Shut up urban

Young Javi would've been betterhis family is boring as fuck, and Clem's love interests are very mediocre.

>>719440697TWD Season 1Wolf Among UsTales from the Borderlandsignore everything else
>>719440542Their story was fucked the moment they decided to make it take place years into the apocalypse instead seeing them develop during the early days of the outbreak, there's a huge whipslash when seeing his brother's wife at the start of the game and minutes later when she flirts with Javi. For them there's years apart but for the player is just minutes, and then Kate gets sidelined early into the game. Javi ends up having more chemistry with Clementine than with his own love interest lmao

Watching people play twd is my guilty pleasure. Idk what it is exactly, but seeing people make their choices (even if they don't matter) is really interesting to me. Even if I watch someone for the first time I feel like I discover something about them based on their choices and justifications
>>719437649>writers were so awful. The writers intentionally made his stupid fucking decisions correct.
>>719442263All that had to be done was take half the supplies and come back tomorrow to see if they were still there. This man was right for wanting revenge.

>>719444178Same, it was a fun experience when I watched my brother play the games
>>719444178There was one guy who uploaded a let's play of TWD when it first came out with minimal reactions that I really enjoyed but I have never been able to find it again despite it probably being like the first result back then. Maybe he deleted his channel.
>>719444178I'm sure most of the time you're finding out they're completely retarded.
>>719437212Kenny's a good character but that's with the acknowledgement that he either ends up as your best friend for life or a spiteful bastard that would leave you for dead the first instance you disagreed with him.
>>719448958I think something bad about him is how his point system originally worked
>>719450290They also seemed to forget he could abandon Clem for the boat if he didn't like Lee enough since the writing for S2 ignores it
>>719450546There's some options to show dislike of Kenny when being reunited but the game is railroaded to show he and Clem at least formed some kind of bond

I hate this motherfucker Arvo like you would not believe, and I hate how the game bends over backwards to make Kenny seem insane for wanting to off him. The end of season 2 is irredeemable shit.

What do you guys think about the gameplay? I mean how in S1 you can feel its point and click roots with the puzzles and the areas that you could explore, later seasons felt more like playable cutscenes with so few playable hubs. It was nice how the Final Season had more gameplay, I liked the combat and shooting sections, but with the combat I felt that it was limited with only one kill animation for zombies, it would have benefited a lot more if there were multiple killing animations but I heard that was due to budget and limitations with the Telltale engine.

>>719441151i would argue that the first episode of tw2 season 2 is also worth it unfortunately i don't think you can get it without all the other shit attached to it, but s2e1 is a worthy successor to season 1
Kennybros? Lilly's thread is winning
What’s the most cursed part of TWD that made no sense and should’ve never happened?
>>719453013Now that I think of it, did Arvo even have a "sick sister"? Or was he a mule for some Russian mafia goons all along?
>>719460071he did have a sister, natasha, and he seethes at clementine for the rest of the episode once she diesthere isn't any indication that she was sick at all though, and it's very strange that he hid the meds so far away from where his group was stayingjust another one of the plot holes brought about by the last two episodes
>>719459983Maybe when Clem talks about her menstruation in ANF. I'm mixed because is something makes you go "oh shit" and it would be a problem for a girl going through puberty in a collapsed world but it's a weird scene when you stop and think how she's talking to Javi who she's known for like 2 days
>>719459983tough callprobably clementine talking to javi about her getting her period, but it's less that it doesn't make sense and more just cursed i think the real biggest one is how the town mentioned in s2e4 is just voided out of existence in the next episode everyone just forgets that's why they were wandering in the forest to begin with and just follow arvo on a day and a half long trek to his half finished houserebecca died trying to get there, and everyone just forgets about it
>gets killed because of shipping
>>719460840maybei think the writing was on the wall for him by s2e3 though, all he does is make an ass of himself the entire episode the next one is even worse where he can endanger everyone by fucking jane and be partially responsible for getting sarah killed no matter what
>>719460840>tfw your plot armor wears off

>>719460840It's bullshit but I believe it
>>719461687kenny was only ever nice to clementine in season 1, he was only a little snippy with her when duck was dying and him refusing to go with lee was more of a issue with lee/ ben than with clementine you have to be heartless to not hug when when they reunite
>>719461879Nah. Before lee died, he told her kenny refused to help find her and she's held a grudge against him ever since.
>>719461879Also, you have to be heartless to refuse to help a 9 year old girl because you're beefing with her caretaker over something that happened prior. Kenny gives off huge petty bitch energy.
>>719461874Cute art. Gonna go look for some Cluke fanfiction now.
>>719461675>telling kate that he got stabbed, no names mentioned>javi suddenly starts yapping about how gabe fucked up and got him stabbedi'm still mad
Siding with Jane in the moment made sense, not because Jane is in the right but because endlessly chasing a pipe dream rather than using the assets at the mall was stupid, Kenny was only in the right because his gamble paid off, if it didn’t, everyone would have called him a retard
>>719437212BOAT! urban? BOAT! urban? BOAT!
>>719440013he got the most retarded death in season 3 because they didn't know how to get rid of him. also Clem only brings death
>>719448794>t.
>>719437212These games are simply not well written
>>719462638He still goes out sacrificing himself to give some time for Clem, and the other flashback shows him being completely calm and loving after being a mental wreck in S2. Jane on the other hand kills herself lmao. I don't even think there were the same writers from S2 with how much Telltale loved to rotate teams.
>>719462946They're better than the show. It is good enough so shut the fuck up
>>719453013Apparently Arvo was supposed to be Eddie from 400 Days in an earlier script. The menu screen has a new Eddie’s model, Arvo uses Eddie’s exact revolver and Jane calls him a ‘Junkie’
>>719463163the eddie = arvo theory has never been confirmed, but it makes too much sense for it to not have been in the cards at some point
>>719462058Not many good ones out there
I wish we got more of these dudes. Some real three stooges energy.
>>719465167it's sad to see how many people ignore 400 daysit was pretty cool at the time, a whole bunch of new characters that would be involved in season 2does anyone remember that bald leader guy from shel's story? he shows up as one of the corpses and the end of s2e1, i guess he became part of the bandit group that attacked clementine and christa and was killed by carver
>>719465452I think that group gets wiped out by bandits, that medicine being stolen really fucks them over if I remember correctly.
>>719465697the group fell apart long before then, even if shel and becca stay they sill end up with vince and the others nearby the abandoned station at the end i wonder how those guys are doing if they don't leave with tavia, fine hopefully what the hell was tavia doing in georgia anyways, isn't carver's place around the virginia/ north carolina border? the station/camp was down by atlanta

>>719441151I recently played Minecraft Story Mode and it still holds up.
>>719441151I like the Batman games, although the second one is a lot more interesting than the firstStill, being able to play two different identities is pretty neat, I wish more games did stuff like that
>>719440697I like the back to the future game
>>719437212I don't care. You treat kenny right, He'll treat you right. He's a ride or die kind of guy, and is loyal as fuck to the very end. He's rare kind of friend to have.
>>719465167>>719465452Shame we never got closure on the fucking madlad that was Nate
>>719467183Nate would be fun to chill with during the apocalypse,
>>719467183I'd go rapin' with Nate, we'd jump some young college girls and have our fun.
>>719437212I have no clue what this game is but it looks western. Westerners are okay with Gaza children starving to death after killing their own children's future importing millions of refugees because they were uhh suffering in some nondescript way. It really depends in what )))Israel((( and its media says that day, so I'm guessing he's apologized because the jewish media told westerners to? Or they are just unaware just like children dying is only an issue when jewish people and their interests care about it
>>719441151>Tales from the BorderlandsBased, the borderlands 3 writers completely fucked up Rhys though
>>719437212Kenny has a very difficult time regulating his emotions even if his points often make sense. Therefore he comes across like a complete schizo who can't control himself even when he's in the right. Yeah I wonder why this site loves him so much...
>>719437649The problem is that after the first season the writing falls off a cliff. You have grown men deferring to a 9 year old girl who easily outsmarts most of them. It's just silly.
>>719467709Nah, I sometimes have a difficult time recognizing how I feel so at those times I just take a break and work through things. That's years of therapy at work, son!I like Kenny because he's a bit of a stubborn bastard but a loyal friend.
>>719467463What about Fiona, though?
>>719467778It feels like season 2 doesn't know how it wants to handle player agency. On one hand it often feels like what you choose doesn't matter and I want to be charitable and say that was on purpose, because Clem is a child and even in the situation where she's capable enough of handling herself in an apocalypse (which she is) I can imagine most adults wouldn't want her to make tough choices like who to save in a life-or-death situation. On the other hand, the adults of the group keep fucking asking her to do everything, and I know that's because she's the main character, but then you got a child main character who has no agency because she's a child who still has to solve everyone's problems despite being a child. It doesn't make sense.
>>719467376Gotta get the beak wet
>>719468059It's been a long time since I played it but I remember there are important decisions where two grown men will be staring at Clem like "plz make the decision for us" and when you actually think about it it's completely idiotic.
>>719467845Doesn't even appear
>>719468232Yeah that's kind of the biggest flaw for me when it comes to season 2. It's got a lot of flaws, but this one is the most obvious (and easily dressed) to me: people keep expecting an eleven year old girl to make tough decisions while the narrative is more railroaded than ever (which, again, I choose to believe was intentional even if I think it was a stupid decision). Lee was a capable adult man who was taking care of a child, he would naturally have a lot of say in a group of zombie apocalypse survivors. Either season 2 should have had some better context for making choices (Clem is smart and could easily appeal to adults by being a cute and seemingly impressionable child), which would certainly be a writing challenge but would allow us to explore the apocalypse in an interesting and unique way, or they should've leaned into that "you aren't trusted to make hard choices because you're a child" theme better. I think the latter would've been kind of frustrating for players expecting to shape the narrative in some way, but at least it'd be a coherent theme which would've worked well with the dark script that they ended up throwing out. All these adults keep fucking up around you, you can't do much about it and everything's going to hell, just like what it'd be like for a real child going through a zombie apocalypse. It'd at least give us some memorable and interesting themes to chew on. The final game just doesn't do that. It wants Clem to make decisions while refusing to have them impact the narrative. It confuses the purpose of hard-hitting deaths from season 1, thinking they hit people hard simply by happening at all. It's an amateurish, schizophrenic and confused season.
>>719468609>easily dressedEasily ADDRESSED. Goddammit.Anyway just to give a few short examples concerning season 2's lazy choices and disregard for making deaths mean something, trying to save Sarah literally makes no difference. Nick dies an undignified, off-screen death and nobody cares afterwards. Steal from Arvo or don't, he still shoots Clementine. The first TWD season might not have been perfect when it comes to choices, but it emphasized character relations in a way the second season simply doesn't. What you do affects how people feel about you and they do their best to make it feel like those choices matter even if the grander narrative can't be derailed too much, while in season 2 it doesn't seem to matter what you do at all. If they wanted to have a theme like "lolol clem doesn't get to impact anything cause she's a kid", then these choices simply don't make sense because the consequences feel like the dungeon master simply disregarded your roll and said you ate shit even though you rolled a twenty. However I choose to analyze this narrative, it doesn't work.
