I always install Lockpick Pro when playing Bethesda games, these lockpicking minigames are a complete waste of time! The same shitty minigame shows up every 20 seconds just to open containers, NO THANKS!
>>719437805Name one (1) game with a good "lockpicking" mechanic.
>>719437852morrowind
>>719437908Morrowind's is shit. I'd rather a gay minigame that takes 3 seconds vs a dice roll that can take 20+
>>719437852Bioshock
>>719437805Palworld managed to make Skyrim's lockpicking even worse
the oblivion minigame was way better
>>719438080The oblivion minigame is better because you can get the skeleton key and just spam auto-complete
i have never and will never mod my video games, i don't get that mentality at all. what's the cutoff? gonna mod yourself more damage, better weapons, etcetera? why not just mod yourself a big red "I win" button and press it, save yourself 100 hours? I will only play games as the author intended and yes i do look down upon those of you who mod
>>719437852Thief deadly shadows. The locks had patterns like locks in real life do, so once you had figured out every lock pattern you could come balling through, see the lock, remember the pattern to that particular brand, and near-instantly break into whatever it was protecting. My headcanon is that it accurately emulates the weaknesses of bulk manufactured locks, once the vulnerability is known basically anything protected by that lock is open slather for thieves, but of course in reality they only wanted to design like 10 or so lock patterns out of expediency. Nevertheless I really liked that aspect of deadly shadows.
>>719438153>I will only play games as the author intendedI'm more intelligent than the author
>>719438143you security skill points also didnt matter if your actual skills were good.
>>719437908I actually agree. Just make it a skill check so I can immediately tell if it's a waste of time or not instead of a minigame that takes 10 seconds.
You didnt beat the game.
>>719437805if youre not a rogue archetype then why bother with lockpicking at all? you dont sleight of hand as a wizard
>>719442494Why would a rogue archetype not just... blast open doors and chests? Why won't he utilize explosives? These are genuine questions. Vanilla Skyrim doesn't provide genuine answers.
>>719442494>you dont sleight of hand as a wizardcorrect, you just cast open like you can in oblivion.
The game literally gives you a cheat lockpick after level 10 lmao.
>>719437805>this medieval lock is hard to op-
>>719437852Risen
>>719438153you're a retard. mods can add new maps, new questlines, new characters, new weapons and armor that are both visually appealing and stat balanced, new mechanics, overhaul old mechanics to make them better or more interesting. Not ever mod is a cheat type god mode weapon/armor or increase player damage by 1000%.I fully agree that people who mod in shit like god mode armor, lock pick pro, or any other type of cheat are generally retarded. Some of it can just be quality of life stuff though. Say you install a randomizer mod for a game youve played a thousand times like OOT or pokemon. Using settings or additional mods to shorten or skip certain blander parts of the game that arent hard, but more just a time waste for an item check (only needed 1 cucoo for anju, skip ingo race if you have eponas song, etc) is fine because it serves an entirely different purpose.
>PCobeses don't get the rumble when you're in the correct spotdamn no wonder people hate this shit, I was wondering what the big goddammit deal was when I first played on switch, the rumble gives it away every time no matter the lock difficulty
