borderless window mode does not exist in 1.12.2

You should look at medieval castle walls for reference.

The wall being built at the bottom of a hill bothers me but I'm sure the finish product will still be jump proof. I always define my home borders along ridges.

does anyone have tips on how to get a lot of cobblestone
>>
>>719444502
You should probably enchant some pickaxes and put on a podcast or something, and get busy.
>>
>>719444931
ok i'll mine for some diamonds and lapis

You can make a cobblestone generator with the iron you probably found.
Just get two buckets, go snag some lava and some water, and arrange them like this. The middlemost block will always become cobblestone when the lava and water touch.
>>
>>719447085
Yeah, do this, and use tape to hold mouse 1 down while you go eat dinner or whatever.

are there slabs in this version? you could put a row of them across the top so spiders cant climb over.

Walls aren't just made of stone. They'd have wooden logs to hold them up.
Here's a simpler one. The walls I made around my villagers used to look like this.
>>
>>719449052
yes
>>
>>719449218
yes there are slabs and the wood in the middle is a door
>>
>>719449390
I don't think that's necessarily true? That wood, over time, would rot and become a weak point in the wall. Meaning not only would it require maintenance in the future, assuming it doesn't collapse suddenly, but the rain/water would get into and ruin the masonry.

Do you have a source for that?
Not knocking you or anything, I think the walls look good. If it wasn't so time consuming, I'd probably make a wall in my own world.
>>
The wall is decorated with slabs at the top and complete
>>

679 KB

>>719450086
>decorated
Yeah, but it's still not fully defensible. Spiders can climb walls, so the top needs a kind of lip to stop them from coming up. If you look at these >>719449052 >>719449390 you'll see how they use upside-down stair blocks to stop it. The stair blocks jut out a bit, then you build on top of that stair block and it widens the top of the wall a bit.
And once that's all done, you can get to work on a nice house within the boundaries of your new wall. Maybe later convert the treehouse into a watchtower.
>>
>>719450334
ok i'll put slabs on the outside first tho i am going to take a break
>>
It needs depth, an overhang with some arches.

Alright anon time to answer:

>>
>>719455791

>>
>>719455590
I will NEVER remove the terrain, I'll always build with it in mind. Building underneath is ugly, and depending on the size, I'll either build around it or build the road over it.
>>
>>719455590
if the slope is gentled enough to make the path have slabs so you can walk up and over, make path over. otherwise a tunnel or a cut
>>
>>719455590
A tastefully decorated tunnel. If the hill isn't too tall, I install a pond with a glass bottom above the tunnel.
>>
Whats the best way to turn concrete powder into concrete, i just place a bunch of the concrete powder into a body of water, then mine the concrete, then repeat but is there a more efficient way to do they
>>
>>719456141
if there's no overhang, you just place the powder where you want it, and then use a water bucket to place water on it. if you're quick enough you can pick the water back up before it floods anything
>>
>>719455824
texturing just looks ugly, once again normies prove they have shit taste
>>
>>719456193
Thanks i will do that cause i am building a simple one room storage building
>>
>>719439448
the why don't you make cobblestone wall and then gradually remove it day to day?
>>
>>719456550
Cause it saves on durability on pickaxes yes i do have a lot of iron like 39 or 40 blocks of ore but i am saving the iron to do some redstone later

I like making a chicken coop with a trapdoor as a window because the chickens love to look out the window and they stay inside most of the time, so I can put a hopper in there and collect all the eggs.

Name a more normalfag theme than this. 90% of builds in minecraft are medieval themed. Be original for once. Why don't you make an aztec or andalusian styled wall? retard.

I prefer late medieval/renaissance era with early steam power which is canon to minecraft anyway
There's almost nothing "medieval" in this game
>>
>>719462679
Everything is medieval, Anon
All you have is fucking stone to build.
Redstone is for autists
>>
>>719462865
I didn't know steam powered carts were a thing in a medieval era
And redstone is a substitute to both oil and electricity
>>
>>719462990
Yeah, redstone is a substitute to oil and electricity so in real life, minecraft is around the late 1700s and early to mid1800s cause the light bulb was discovered in 1879 and the redstone lamp is the most advanced thing in the game so the game is around 1879, i say around cause who knows how advanced Steve or the ancient builders could be, in short minecraft in terms of advancements minecraft is around 1879
>>
>>719455860
>>719455967
The duality of Steve
>>
Made a hopper system and it works, happy it works cause stuff i make with redstone is a gamble if it works first or second try
>>
Unrelated to the thread, but I wish Vintage story had more content in general instead of mind numbingly boring homesteading
>>
>>719439185
kek
>>
>>719464392
Me too havent played it yet but it seems fun for one playthrough
>>
>>719464392
yeah, i think there's about 20 hours worth of content. With Better Ruins it adds quite a bit more because it's fun to go off and explore, see all the cool builds. the combat is hit or miss for some people, and for me, food becomes an annoyance. So Vintage Story and Minecraft end up being the same for me which is just building random shit.

I still have ptsd from my first ever chicken farm. I used them for exp. It was like a 1x2 full of chickens. when I got close, I would pick up eggs, I would throw them in the enclosure. I remember seeing the chicks break free from the egg and falling into the chicken abyss, into the poutine concentration camp. Sometimes, they wouldnt fall, they would somehow get stuck in the wall and suffocate. i remember thinking those were the lucky ones.
minecraft if fucked up man
