A switch exclusive game could easily work. But an online PvP switch exclusive is a bizzare choice. I guess there’s not much competition? But that’s for good reason, no one uses a Switch 2 for competitive games outside of Nintendo exclusives. And even those majority of players never go online, they play splitscreen. What % of switch players pay the Nintendo online tax? It’s a fuckload less than playstatuon or Xbox, and obviously less than PC who has 100% of population able to play online if they want with no payment.It’s also a PvEvP extraction type game. Which is an incredibly niche genre, but also one that’s known for being sweaty and taken obnoxiously serious by players. Nintendo fans are not gonna play that, at least not for very long. And other people will be turned off from buying a switch 2 for this game because they can’t cope with 30fps (with drops) and dogshit online networking.Had they just made a traditional Souls game it would’ve done well, any convinced large numbers of people to buy a Switch 2 just for this. But moment it got revealed as a multiplayer game.
