It's not Mario, since Donkey Kong Bananza more or less confirmed that it's not Mario, all because Pauline is the same age as Mario. It's also not Jumpman, since he looks nothing like Jumpman.

But Donkey Kong Country 2 (as well all of the other Donkey Kong Country games) happened long before Bananza. K. Rool was last seen ~~before Bananza~~ playing baseball and playing with pegs (and that was after he wanted to blow up DK Island with a convoluted scheme when he could have had it happen if he kidnapped DK again). So it can't be Mario, since he was either a kid or wasn't born yet.

You're assuming the Pauline in Bananza is the same as the one in Odyssey. Bananza however heavily implies this isn't the case and the grandma she constantly talks about is most likely adult Pauline.
