Maybe the sub-team is just more passionate for keeping the true intentions compared to the US Eng guys? They seem like they actively try to find a compromise between both approaches at least, my guess is that they work off of both the US script (for regional proximity) and the Spain script (for name consistency between regions). Related fun fact: the LatAm VA for the Lab Discovera tour is one of the LatAm voice directors, and she's also the singer for Penny's Song in English... and the Spanish cover that Nintendo only ever uploaded to their Youtube, it's not even in the game.
