Yes, but you may get stuck in spots and will have to rethink your gear and/or go explore other parts of the game.

If you get slapped by a boss or area, try going somewhere else, doing some optional dungeons, leveling up a bit, find new gear, and just generally stop trying to brute force a fight. Also, there are NPC summons you can bring in that help take the boss' attention off of you. Hell, you can even bring in other players to help you out. If you actually use what's available to bring the difficulty down in spots that give you trouble, or at least properly explore to level up and get items, you should be fine. Older games like Dark Souls or Bloodborne could be tricky since, sometimes, it was just a matter of fighting a boss until you mastered it. ER lessens that with the open world and the ability to go somewhere else when things get too tough.

So yes, just don't be stubborn or a perfectionist that refuses to use any of the game's systems.

If any NPC interests you dont be afraid to look online for a walkthrough for their quests, you get rewards from them and the biggest weakness in soulsborne games is that theyre kinda obtuse.
