Oh look, it's the Unreal Engine performance profiler and optimizer.

The most advanced one in the industry.

The one with detailed info about anything that is slowing your game down.

The one where if any dev bothered to spent a few days learning to take advantage of it they would have their game run flawlessly.
>>
Jeet devs can't even read English.
>>
Bro that profiler says nothing

Also 5.6+ profiler and onwards removed some crucial shit related to megalights that you can't monitor anymore lolol
>>
Just because supposedly it tells you where the problem is, doesn't mean it's easy to fix.

already outed yourself as a retard
>>

Its fine for game thread CPU performance, but its not very detailed for rendering, which is usually the bottleneck (outside of hitches from loading and PSO caching). You probably want to use one of the GPU makers' profilers for rendering performance. However the people who are directly responsible for most of the performance problems don't care, thinks its somebody else's job, won't do profiling themselves, and completely ignore the guy who gets designated as the tard-wrangler until he quits.
>>
>>719458468
Then they don't get to blame the engine.

if a compiler allow you to compile code that breaks a program this is considered a shit compiler with no error handling
if a game engine allow you to make an unoptimized game it's not the fault of the engine

the levels of pretend technical expertise on /v/ are astounding

So slop engine 5 shows you how to optimize the game, it legit gives you the info, yet developers refuse to optimize? Are they funded by Nvidia or something so people buy new graphics card to play games that look like xbox 360 but requires framegen??

This is a good thread. Therefore I will bump it.

my xp in dev is nobody uses these types of tools due to a mix of not caring and not having enough time to do anything than blast out bullshit as fast as possible.
>>
A profiler can point you to a problem but that doesn't make it easy to fix. Bottlenecks can be inherent to your logic and unavoidable. Not saying that it's impossible to optimize a UE5 game but that it's naive to assume all you need is to turn on a profiler
>>
>>719460506
I agree, but I also know a lot of devs have literally never touched a profiler.
I was reading a Devblog from going Medieval and they only figured out unity has a profiler like 5 years into development.

What does Unreal Engine 5 bring to the table?
Why use UE5 and not UE4 (which also has problems, I know)?
Why don't devs use UE4 or Unity, or some other engine that doesn't run that badly?

It's fucking crazy

okay thats cool and all but how is that going to keep all unreal engine sloppa from looking and feeling all the same?

>Unreal Engine performance profiler and optimizer.
That's not what it's called. What is the software's name? I want to use it.
>>
>>719465390
try playing UE5 games on AMD gpu's. works flawless. i see all these people complaining about performance issues but never experience them myself with my 7900gre. i suspect it's nvidia's drivers that are to blame, which are notoriously bad with UE5.
>>
>>719459124
the moment epic bought the rad tools, they took ownership of telemetry (the best profiler on the market). i have no clue tho whether they have integrated it into the unreal yet.
>>
>>719467704
wtf are you talking about? ue5 issues are intrinsic to the engine, they're not hardware dependent. UEslop doesn't stop stuttering just because your GPU is of a different brand

it's the engine that's shit

do epic devs use it since fortnite runs like complete shit.

The only thing that should have Hindi support is the Death Note
>>
An anon once said that many of the features of Unreal Engine 5 were designed with professional animations in mind, and I don't doubt it. Note that many of the problems with AAAs are that they are not trying to look like video games in the first place, but rather like typical 3D rendering that you find in engines used in movies, architecture, etc., but in real time.
Of course, it's also the fault of the developers, and the software houses that pressure them to make things look like the real world, even though the biggest phenomenon in the history of video games, Minecraft, is made of huge cubes with pixelated textures.
>>
>>719468970
Who made the engine? Alien mice?
>>
>>719467812
Not sure if you're joking but it's unironically not a bad idea.
>>719467926
Thanks dude
>>
>>719465390
This is what happens when developers have to make their games with actual hardware limitations (mobile phones) in mind, and not rely on DLSS and AI slop.
>>
A good studio would make their own engine or ask the engine team to add new features or fix performance issues.
Look at what modders can do on Bethesda and FromSoft games, compared to Unreal Engine games.
