If a hobby makes you mad, is it a bad hobby?
>>
>>719459110
No, somtimes that's the point because being mad is often enjoyable.
>>
>>719459110
I work on cars and im always livid but its worth when you get it running .
>>

People aren't angry about the hobby itself, but about how the modern fuel for this hobby has become lousy.
Unfortunately, gaming is a hobby that requires regular refueling with new resources. Just as a car needs gasoline, a gamer needs new games. Sure, they can keep going for a while on old games they enjoy, but just like a car with an almost empty tank, sooner or later, it'll come to a stop.
And just as a driver would complain if they were sold gasoline diluted with water or, God forbid, mixed with sugar, a gamer complains about the poor quality of gameplay in games and the presence of woke agendas in them.
>>
This would be a lot more real if the mindset of these people wasn't
>Its never gonna get any better.
>I'm getting to old to play games with actual gameplay
>The only shit I enjoy nowadays has no gameplay value and is an evergloried Visual novel.
> Only plays singleplayer games out of fear of being called a shitter.
>Hates gacha, still wastes money on it because it shows a generic gif titty.
>Grown resentful of people who can still enjoy games

Anger usually stems from passion.
Some people get angry at the video game industry, or their favorite video game series, because they WANT it to be good with both quality and success but they continue to degrade and suffer from enshittification.
Like me. I get angry that Nintendo would rather shit all over their consumers who frequently beg to be shat on instead of making good games like they used to. And it upsets me because there nothing I can do about the literal millions of NPCs who happily pay $100 for digital feces every single time.

Why would you put sugar in gas? Anyways well put, couldn't have said it better myself.

Sometimes a hobby needs to challenge you. That means you can get frustrated and upset about it, yes.

Are you masochistic by any chance?

It's grown unbelievably stagnant along with the rest of Western culture. I was playing Hexen earlier today and decided to read some period reviews about it. When it was ported to the N64 in 1997 (barely 2 years after it was released) most of the reviewers complained that it was outdated and old because it was 2D. A game 2 years old being considered outdated. We have no idea how good we had it, everything was constantly moving so fast all the time.

It made me think back to when I was 15 in 2007 when I built my first gaming computer. It was a budget rig, so my game options were limited. I remember buying Jedi Knight 2 and thinking
>It's a pretty old game that no one talks about, but this looks fun
It was not even 5 years old at the time. What the fuck happened? Kids are playing games from 10-15 years ago that are still in service, games are still being released for the PS4/Xbox One after 5 (FIVE) years of their successors being released, it's insane. It's like time stopped around 2010/12.

>i only play games i actually like
the problem is that they're ruining series i like, which in turn means there will be less new games that i will like in the future

People get mad at their hobbies all the fucking time. But there's a difference between when the fish aren't biting, and when someone is shouting in your face with a megaphone telling you that you're a bad person for enjoying the things that you do, or subsequently not liking what they like.

> Why would you put sugar in gas?
Why would you put niggers in Scandinavian folklore?
>>
>>719459915
Because the writer is a communist desperately attempting to replace history with whatever the trendy modern version of it is. Unfortunately it's succeeding. Go ask a zoomer if they think niggers were walking around the streets of Great Britain a few hundred years ago and the majority will say yes, of course.

Boo fucking hoo. Play mods and fan works, nigger. Vidya's been nothing but rehashes and derivative bullshit for over 40 years now, you might as well get derivative bullshit from the niggas that actually give a shit--but you won't because all you care about is actually just bitching like a bitch you bitch faggot nigger

What hobby wouldn't potentially make someone mad? I'm sure someone in the world has gotten pissed off over stamp collecting. You could argue that a lot of anger towards modern gaming is made in the hopes that the industry will correct itself but honestly I think it's just the almighty algorithm making ragebait more prominent+people addicted to it vs conversations of things people actually like. Even on here a thread dies in the double digits without bait in the OP.
>I like this game

>I hate this game (I actually love it and I'm just pretending to hate it so that the thread will be more lively)

To a degree.
>>719459651
No. Cock and ball torture in games is a selling point for some.
>>
i'd say that it depends on how you act when you're in that state.
as long as you're not making life harder for anyone, including yourself, why not get a little mad?
