Not enough of them. It's actually kind of weird to me how uncommon "you play as a person with a suit of armor that gives them abilities" are, especially shooters. Like they exist, but that just feels like such an obvious design theme to use.
>>719459705>Games where I can wear powered suits/armor?If you want a Soul like, you have "THE SURGE"Technically you have exoskeleton in DEATH STRANDING, but I guess you want more functionalities than carrying stuff, or whether it help you with pure load, speed or with terrain traversal.STALKER have exo but it's basically just increasing your lifebar, it has its own wears, not rechargeable armor like Half-LifeFallout 4 have exo, but it's Bethesda and therefore soullessnothing else come to mind>>719460620We can still have appreciation for the autism of that guy.3D printing simplify a lot but the design and actuator would still be very complicated.
>>719461480I wonder if the final suit could be made using CNC aluminium or titanium parts of he's rich enough
>>719461153To be fair, most of the time the exoarmor only exist decoratively to justify HP in your bland futurist FPS gameplay, easy upgrade, or give you 3-seconds-jetpack.The main function is armor,Giving extra strength is meaningless if there's nothing to lift and no CQC combatGiving extra high jump is only relevant in platforming gameGiving jetpack can break gamesAllowing you to breaths underwater is just QoLResisting acid or temperature require making environment matterExoskeleton are actually best used when they restrict your movement in the name of protecting you from something else
>>719461553That would require a metal printer, it would be far too heavy for something that's only pretending to be high-tech armor.Just paint the damn plastic with metal-looking paint.
>>719462012I think that's a simple view of it, there's plenty of power armor types that would give you more meaningful mechanics than halo. Just look at the wealth of additional mechanics mecha games feature, directional thruster dodges, positional shields, multiple active weapons, a general healthy use of larger weapons. Look at how EDFs fencer distinguishes itself from other classes. Also you should absolutely have a powerful melee attack that ragdolls and launches human-sized enemies. Obviously that's really fun.
Does the juggernaut suit count?
