>>719464335It's still good even with .22 rounds with JSawyer and its' forks. Varmint rifle never was supposed to chamber 5.56mm rounds, since it's a gun for animal hunting anyway, but Sawyer pussied out and changed his mind last minute. Besides, you can easily get strong weapons very early in the game anyway, and you'll throw away that varmint rifle by the time you get lever action shotgun, Lucky, Chance's knife, or cowboy repeater.
