>singleplayer game that simulates the feeling, gameplay and content of a MMO while letting you to play it offline with a bunch of bots that run around the world and act like real players
If this catches on, it will make MMO's obsolete for most people. No mor requirement for internet connection, no more monthly subscriptions, no more joining discord servers to LFG, no more worrying about the game dying - you'll just boot up the game and get the numbers going up fix with a whole "server" full of "players" ready to quest and raid with you anytime.
I hope this works out.

>it will make MMO's obsolete for most people
Not surprising, playing modern MMOs feels just like playing with bots. If bots can talk and reply to the player, even with pre-written messages rather than AI generated text, it will already feel more alive than 90% of MMOs out there.
>>
>>719473070
The irony is I lowkey wish this had co-op so you could also get human players on board if need be.
>>
>>719473070
If I've got a group of bots I'm running a bunch of 5 man dungeons with to get gear, are they gearing up alongside me or is it just all me?
>>
It needs to go further.
NPCs are boring across the board.
A way to "log out" and browse a desktop would be fantastic especially if the OS is not a windows like but reimagined.
On the desktop you can browse a few websites and visit forums and such to learn about the game, finding secrets and stuff.

Rolling updates / seasonal events that get added as you play the game. Also having maintenance hours or patch days would be cool.

Too bad the game sucks
>>
>>719473070
what the fuck is wrong with zoomers?
>>
>>719475626
I wouldn't say it sucks but it's very eh

I checked this game out and unfortunately it's ultimately a retarded idea.
I don't play world of warcraft for its mechanics, I play it for the world of WARCRAFT. No, not LGBTranny paraplegic space dragons in wheelchair kind. The WotLK kind.
I don't play Warhammer Age of Reckoning for its PvP mechanics. I play it because I like warhammer and its world and factions.
I don't play LotR Online because of how many different zones it has. I play it because I like Lord of the Rings. Same with TOR. I like Star Wars and loved KotOR, therefore I played TOR.
I do not want to play a lore-less generic fantasy skinnerbox simulator with generic low poly assets and VFX and generic everything else. The skinnerbox simulator is not the thing I'm after in an MMO

I hope all multiplayer games get this treatment. There isn't a single game that isn't ruined by having other people play the game.
Every game is datamined, metagamed, people seethe and sneed while playing it, everyone just mad 24/7 and trying to troll other players into saying something that will get them banned.
The only appeal to online games is that video game AI is really bad and predictable. With better AI you could simulate the players without any of the bad stuff. You can have players who move and act human, they pussy out of encounters or overextend, they are afraid to lose, but it's not a 12 year old Brazilian who looked up the meta build on youtube.
I hope multiplayer games get raped. The only type of multiplayer game that should exist are those left 4 dead co-op clones you play with a small group of friends. Fuck randoms. Fuck losers who have made entire careers out of metagaming, like those hundreds of Overwatch youtubers who just pump out daily Overwatch slop telling people what the meta is.

my runescape / ff obsessed friend played this for a long time

stockholm syndrome
>>
>>719473070
I looked up a gameplay video and it looks and seems like it plays like ass. You're better off just hosting your own WoW server with bots or solo plugins.

God I love this level of autism. You're spot on-if they really want to sell the illusion, then nailing the little mundane MMO quirks is half the charm. Fake downtime, patch notes in an in-game launcher, jank forum posts with people complaining about bugs or trying to minmax builds, rumors about hidden bosses that appear once every X days-hell yes. Let me log into a fake OS, open my fake web browser, and read fake patch notes about how they nerfed the drop rate on "Soulcore Crystal" because players were AFK-farming it in the Blightwood Caverns. Feels like peak immersion.

As far as I know one guy is making it
And for a solo dev it's pretty impressive that he can make a mmo-style game with detailed bot players who can create an illusion that theres other people playing the game
>>
So like .hack or SAO games?
>>
Does anyone actually want to play an MMO for the game part and not the social parts?
I mean I'm retarded so that's Runescape 3 for me but I'm also a tiny minority

>fake MMO game
>lots of AI NPCs going around doing quests and shit
>maybe some are even griefing each other or doing an auction
>some stuff is the same across all games but otherwise is randomized
>because everyone else is an NPC the game can allow you to actually be the protagonist
>no pay2win bullshit
I would sell the soul of everyone I know for something like this.

>Does anyone actually want to play an MMO for the game part and not the social parts?
billions of people are Chinese, Indian, and Latino, so, yes. you have to understand, these people aren't social like white people (and Japanese people) are social. Society is inherently a dog-eat-dog rat race to them. They take enjoyment in bug behavior. Even better when there's no actual humans to bother them.
>>
>>719473545
This. If someone could hop into your 'server', that'd be peak
>>
This is the final video game genre. This is what it was all leading up to.
>>
>>719475438
Even the old dotHack games on PS2 had this and it was absolutely fucking kino. I literally modded my desktop and icons to match the ALTIMIT OS after a week of grinding that game. Fucking love that immersive shit
>>
At that point you might as well enable cheats and skip to the "you win" screen. Having to deal with real humans is part of what makes MMOs fun.
>>
>>719480574
Tranny cope. Third worlders love MMOs because they can scam other people. White people are the only ones who enjoy a nice single player experience.
The single player market has been destroyed by giving internet access to India, Brazil, China and Russia.
>>
I love this concept but it has a long way to go. Needs more content, waaaaaaay more depth to game play and more classes.

Could be awesome one day. AI will deliver the real single player mmo I crave
>>
that's kind of like crosscode, but that game is an adventure in an mmo
>>
>>719473070
i thought it said friendslop

>>719473070
not interested without co-op

But can I ERP with the bots?

I asked the guy who made this about meta stuff when he announced it and he said while he likes /hack too, it's just a no-go for this game and not in the scope of the project.
I do like the pace of him adding stuff to the game though, so I picked it up. Waiting for release to play it though

>>719475696
>not giving money to some soulless shitty MMO where you're not going to interact with people anyway
Nothing, in this case.

>>719483848
If you want that, get CHIM for Skyrim.
>>
>>719475438
This would be fucking great
>>
>>719476118
>he plays an MMO for the actual game instead of the made up social bullshit and padded content while discarding the actual game
I don't believe you. real gamers are extinct.
